Cequent Trailer Hitches & Towing
Cequent is the 300-lb. Gorilla in the towing industry. Since the turn of the century, they’ve acquired over a dozen major players in the RV and trailer towing field, as well as launched some new brands. Drawing on the expertise of all of their daughter companies, they have every market niche in the towing field plugged. Our loyal customers have been using Cequent products for a while, and they have a lot to say about the brand.
Cequent’s’ traditional towing brands, like Reese and Draw-Tite, make traditional hard parts, like receiver hitches, ball mounts, and hitch balls. With fitments from the latest cars and trucks to virtually any vehicle sold in the US for generations, you’re sure to find an effective solution to your towing problem. If not, Cequent’s daughter brands have top-of-the-line hitch components to allow you to fabricate your own hitch.
Once the hitch is connected, there's the problem of hooking up the two electrical systems. The simple way is with a T-One connector from one of Cequent’s brands, which allows you to tap into the existing vehicle wiring to add a trailer receptacle. Another solution for vehicles with separate brake and turn signals (like many newer trucks and many European cars) would be a power converter that turns on the correct lights on the trailer at the right time.
We use our cars, trucks, and trailers to move ourselves and our stuff around. Cequent has plenty of cargo management options, from high-quality cargo bars that keep stuff from moving around the trailer, to roof racks and cartop carriers, to more mundane things like bungees and ratchet-strap tiedowns. Cargo carriers that fit into the receiver hitch are a great way to carry the occasional overload, or messy cargo that you don’t want inside.
For light trucks, sport utility vehicles, recreation vehicles, passenger cars, and trailers of all types, Cequent has a comprehensive collection of premium grade products. They include towing and hitch systems, trailer components and accessories, and electrical, brake, cargo carrying and rack systems. The group consists of 3 business units: Cequent Performance Products, Cequent Consumer Products and Cequent Asia/Pacific/Africa.
Trailer brakes are required on trailers above a certain weight (your state laws vary on this). Cequent companies have every solution you need, with electric brake controllers at a number of price points, as well as brake drums and assemblies to maintain your existing axles. Cequent, a TriMas company, based out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan is an operating group that is a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of a broad range of accessories.
There are various 3rd party vendors selling the same item, I used CARiD because they could get it to me the quickest, I live in Hawaii so I shop for shipping values. Amazon had a wait time of over 3 months for my order to arrive, I purchased this on Ebay through CARiD and had it in a week and was only charged $3 more in shipping. Would do this again through CARiD, just make sure they have the item in stock when you order.
