Hitch Mount Bike Racks

Whether you just want to explore new trails on your mountain bikes or you’re taking the kids’ bikes on vacation, a hitch mount bike rack is a great way to get those bikes to your destination. It’s the easiest and fastest type of bike rack to mount and load. No base rack is required, no reaching to mount a roof mount bike rack, and no lifting the bike up to the roof. And there’s no adjustments to make or straps to fiddle with like on a trunk mount rack.

Featured Products

Hitch mount bike racks mount to your 1 ¼” or 2” receiver hitch, so when you’re ready to roll you slide the rack into the receiver and secure it with the hitch pin or lock. Hitch mount racks come in platform style and hanging style. Platform style racks support the bikes by the wheels while hanging style racks support the bikes on the frame. Either type is super easy to load and requires a minimal amount of bike lifting.

We aim to provide our customers with the finest Hitch Mount Bike Racks the industry can offer, which is why we accept no compromise when it comes to the quality. Created by the most reputable names in the industry, such as Rhino-Rack, Thule, Yakima, SportRack, CURT the Hitch Mount Bike Racks we've gathered for you feature precise design and everlasting durability.

Platform racks can usually carry up to 2 bikes, secured by clamps at the wheels or frame. Hanging racks come in models that can transport up to 5 bikes. Hanging racks have one or two arms that support the frame on cradles. Various methods are used to attach the bikes to the carrier including adjustable straps and top plates, and some racks feature anti-sway cradles to prevent bike-to-bike contact and damage during transport. Some hanging racks feature lockable cradles or an integral cable to secure the bikes to the rack.

Hitch mount bike racks are easy to live with. You don’t have to worry about roof clearance and you have complete access to the rear of your vehicle. Some premium hitch racks swing away even when fully loaded for access, while most racks can be tilted back when unloaded for rear of the vehicle access. And on most hanging racks the arms fold down when the rack is not in use for additional parking and garage clearance. If you don’t have standard frame bikes you can still use a hanging bike rack. We offer temporary tubes that can be clamped to the seat post and handlebar stem to simulate a horizontal top frame tube.

Guides & Articles
We have already introduced you to the wide range of bicycle carrier accessories that we offer, including trunk-mounted, roof-mounted, trailer hitch-mounted, and pickup truck bed-mounted. In this article, we will spend additional time exploring your options when it comes to selecting a hitch-mounted bike carrier.
Bicycle riding, whether done for leisure, for exercise, or for sport, seems to be more popular than ever, at least judging by all the weekend riders we see hitting the pavement and the trails all over the place. In fact, bicyclists are saddling up 12 months a year; they certainly are not letting weather and temperature extremes prevent them from pedaling the miles.

2006 Mini Cooper | Posted by Isaac | (Heber, UT)

This universal bike carrier was very easy to install and put on my vehicle, no issues what so ever. I feel very confident that there will be no issues when i am driving and i haven't had any. Took a biking trip with it and i totally forgot it was there. It's also very nice that it can be lowered to open rear hatch on a vehicle without removing the bikes.
