CURT trailer hitches are divided into five classes to help distinguish their sizes, capabilities, and vehicle applications. Each hitch is classified by its weight ratings and receiver tube size.

This means it can handle a variety of small trailers such as single-axle utility trailers, canoe and kayak trailers, dirt bike trailers and more. It can also accept a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or bike rack, making it a very useful addition to cars with limited cargo space. Each CURT class 1 hitch is co-cured with a liquid Bonderite coating and a high-gloss black powder coat finish that provide a lasting defense against rust, wear and harmful UV rays. Like all CURT receiver hitches, this class 1 hitch is made right here in the USA and is backed by a one-year finish warranty and a limited lifetime warranty.

No matter what you are towing, CURT is ready to provide you with a reliable trailer hitch that will serve you for years to come. CURT trailer hitches are put through rigorous testing before being deemed ready to tow. Each hitch is totally customized for a particular vehicle and is able to perform at its listed capacity. The trailer hitches by CURT are mechanically de-scaled and dipped in a liquid Bonderite® coating, covering the hitch inside and out to ensure long-term rust and corrosion.

I bought a 7000 lb hitch from Tractor Supply that said it would fit my 2003 1500HD, but that was a joke. I got online and found this one for $100 more at another seller. Found this site and ordered it. They called me last Thursday, 4/20/23, and told me it would ship on Monday and that would receive an email when it did. I received the email today, Monday and when I checked the tracking it was already out for delivery. When I opened it I could not believe how heavy and well built it was. This is way way better than the Tractor Supply one that didn’t fit. It was nice to finally buy something that was what it said it was and was built far beyond expectations.

Great product. Easy installation with little experience. Sturdy and tough product.

Items arrived promptly and undamaged. Items were separately packaged thus making the previous possible. Solid construction and the easy to get it installed. For those not so mechanically inclined or don't have patience...Upon finding video via YouTube I promptly realized it would be easier to take it to the Creator of the installation video: U-Haul. For a mere $120.00 (pending location) they will install your hitch w/wiring harness in under an hour. And it's DONE CORRECTLY/PROFESSIONALLY! Between CARiD and UHaul, I can now safely tow my trailer! Thank you both!!!

Great Hitch, But Be Aware Wrong Hardware is Included.
CURT® - Class 3 Trailer Hitch with 2" Receiver Opening
I ordered this hitch for my 2021 Ford Bronco, 4 door. This is a high quality made hitch, I'm pleased with its construction, and the fit on the frame on the car. No complaints there. HOWEVER - the included bolts are 4 1/2" long, and they hit the rear bumper before being fully seated. They are too long, period. It is unsafe to install with these, as you will not be able to fully seat the bolt against the hitch. Additionally, the bolt interferes with the rear wiring harness. BOTH of these issues are brought up in the another customers review on this page from December as well. I have raised the issue to customer service - after much back and forth, I still do not think they understand the issue. BUT, they did credit me back $40 in gift cards, which I'm happy with as compensation. I personally believe you need 4" long, 1/2" diameter Grade 8 Zinc yellow coated bolts for this to work with this, and that is what I will be sourcing to mount this hitch. Overall - great hitch, wrong hardware included, but easy fix from any hardware supplier. Satisfied with customer service solution.

Hitch fits great but bolts are approximately half inch too long so they interfere with the bumper. I cut one but it took 3 blades (1 reciprocating saw and 2 manual hack saw) so I will be reaching out direct to Curt for new fastener set as I'm not spending the time to cut each bolt. Even with bolts shortened, it will interfere with the factory back up sensor harness so I will need to reroute or add cushion tape to prevent rub. Attached image shows bolt touching bumper surface with bolt head still 1-2mm from contact to hitch surface on the other side.

First I would say that my experience with CARID and the shipment from Curt were first class. The product arrived within a week of my order. My observation of the appearance of quality of the product seems quite impressive. Thick and heavy duty metal. The video indicated it was a one and a half hour job at most. Actually, it took me closer to ten hours but that was because of one glaring omission from the list of needed tools. You will definitely need a COBALT drill bit. A regular steel drill bit will have you spending four hours trying to drill one hole. Bottom line, be sure to purchase the 17/32 Cobalt drill bit before attempting this install. It costs approximately $35 as of the time of my review. Otherwise like me, you will spend hour upon hour simply trying to drill and enlarge a single hole in the incredibly hardened steel of the rear bumper support. I eventually ended up going to the hardware store for the Cobalt drill bit. After that it went like clockwork. Fortunately all the other holes in the car are predrilled by the car manufacturer. If I had that drill bit from the jump, I actually could have finished the job in two hours. Also, if you don't own a die grinder, simply purchase a cone shape carbide die grinder bit with a 1/4 inch shank that will fit into your drill. It worked like a champ to enlarge and elongate the hole from the 17/32 drill bit to accommodate the hardware for the bumper beam attachment. Also, they don't mention it but its best to disconnect the muffler from it's rubber hanger to reach some of the hitch attachment points but that only takes about 5 minutes. If you have trouble there are several videos on YouTube about the subject. Something about WD40 and channel lock pliers. All in all the experience was positive. Make sure to wear long sleeves, gloves and safety glasses when under the car drilling and grinding. Good luck!

Great Product at a Solid Price Point.
CURT® - Class 3 Trailer Hitch with 2" Receiver Opening
Received this in in good order. All things were as described and the installation instructions were not the best but adequate. There was 1 point where they stated you needed to back off a bumper fastener to get it to fit properly. I ignored this part until I realized that I had to back off this fastener about .25" in order for the hitch to fit properly. Another reviewer said she installed it by herself. Good for her, I needed another person to help lift it into position to set the carriage bolts. I could not do both by myself. There was some gaps on the dry fit but the carriage bolts were long enough to span that gap. While tightening it up, it pulled the hitch right to the frame. There are 2 bolts that need to be fished through the frame. However, they did not fit any holes in the frame that were existing. I needed to go to Home Depot to get a steel hole saw bit to open them up. That bit was $17. I want to say it is a 7/8" hole saw. Took about 30 seconds to open each hole and had no issue fishing the bolts through. Threw some paint on the bare metal and away I went. The hardest part for me was removing the exhaust from the 3 rubber mounts. I did not have the right tool to do this but made due with a pair of channel locks that worked out well.

This was just what I needed to add my Kuat rack to my new Subaru Outback. The price was as low as I could find, and it arrived much faster than I expected.

This Curt hitch is priced right and satisfies my need. I use it mainly to carry my two ebikes on a bike carrier. I also use it to carry a cargo hitch for travel. The square design is more slender than than the round ones. The foot sensor to open the back hitch still work.
