Performance Transmission Parts

Complete performance transmissions and components for street, strip, and track

Day by day, the transmission has to cope with numerous tasks. You may hardly realize how many different ways it operates. So, if you experience any problems with it, like noises, leaks, shifting problems, etc., don't wait until your vehicle suddenly stops somewhere on a lonely desert highway and refuses to start. Check the transmission as soon as you can, and if any parts need to be replaced, we'll gladly help you.

Racing Clutch Kits

Being one of the most complicated components in a vehicle, the transmission contains as many as 1,000 parts, each of which must work properly in order to have the whole drivetrain functioning smoothly. It is enough to have one defective component to cause a lot of serious problems. If it has happened, don't panic! We've got everything you may need: high performance manual and automatic transmissions, clutch sets and torque converters, and much more.

Most vehicles weigh several thousand pounds, so the engine alone, without the gears, cannot give enough power for moving the vehicle. This is an obvious thing for those who had a bike with more than one gear. Why? Because they know that it's easier to pedal the cycle in the first gear. In a lower gear, the pedals are easier to operate and make lots of turns, but the bike doesn't ride that fast. The same is with your vehicle. The engine makes lots of revolutions in lower gears, however the vehicle can't drive fast until the momentum allows the engine to turn the wheels faster through higher gears.

What makes a difference between an automatic and manual transmission is that the manual one locks and unlocks sets of gears to the output shaft to provide different gear ratios, while an automatic transmission with the same set of gears allows for all the gear ratios. If you've got a vehicle with a manual transmission, you start with the first gear, get some speed, release the clutch pedal and shift to the second, make more speed, release the clutch again, turn to the third gear, and so on. The highest gear is called 'overdrive' because it's a ratio where the drive shaft is rotating a bit faster than the engine.

Clutch Kits and Drivetrain Parts

With the automatic drivetrain, you don't need to shift gears as the planetary gear set will do all that work for you and create all of the gear ratios. There are two complete planetary gear sets tied together into one component in the automatic transmission. All you have to do is choose the operating mode and that's it. Whether automatic or manual, the transmission is the fundamental factor for estimating the performance of your vehicle. The engine is capable to generate a ton of horsepower, but that is just one side of the coin.

If you’ve decided it’s time to replace the clutch on your manual-transmission car, you’ve reached the point where advantages (crisp, new-feeling response) have come to outweigh disadvantages (significant labor costs or time spent doing it yourself). Whether you don’t have a choice because your old clutch slips badly, or you want to take initiative and upgrade your vehicle by sharpening performance off the line, you have high expectations about the finished result once high labor costs are paid or you’ve spent a lot of time and effort doing it yourself. You’re anticipating silky release and take-in of the clutch pedal, smooth running without harshness or vibrations, crisp shifts that chirp tires on pavement, and the fact that your vehicle feels brand new again. Knowing what’s important when a clutch job is being done can get you those results and save you money, because taking shortcuts usually yields disappointment.

Looks good but the adapters s*ck.
| Posted by | (Ardrossan, AB)

Cons: The adapters are plastic and don't have any threads. This cause the shift knob to spin even with the screws tightened. Solution: Make/buy a adapter. Pros: All the screws and the screw driver are in the box. There are adhesive decals for 5 and 6 speed gearboxes/transmissions. There is one for a 5 speed gearbox and there are 3 for 6 speed gearbox. Summary: Adapters aren't great but it looks good.
