Headers are installed because the stock exhaust manifolds usually flow poorly. This is an awesome aftermarket piece. Very easy to install even if you've never done it. Only takes about an hour or so to remove the old exhaust and put this one on. TIP: Make sure you cut the old exhaust off at the beginning of the resonator and not the end of the Catalytic converter because you need that piece of pipe between the two and the picture can be confusing if you look at it wrong. Extremely pleased with this product and how fast I received it.
