Not so long ago, many cars and trucks came sensibly equipped with chrome fender trim that bordered the wheel openings. We say sensibly because these moldings not only provided bright detail and visual interest that enhanced the overall style of the vehicle, they also protected the edge of the fenders from minor dings caused by doors, shopping carts, and road debris. After all, moldings are easy to replace and less expensive than a trip to the body shop.

But over the years bright trim of all types, including fender moldings, began to disappear, the victim of changing styling trends. If you think such tendencies are misguided (and we certainly do) you don’t have to live with somebody else’s idea of what vehicles should look like. We have the bright chrome moldings you need to liven up the sides of your car or truck and add practical protection against minor dings and dents.

One of the ways fender trim adds visual appeal to a car or truck is in how it perfectly frames the wheels and tires in the fender well openings. Just as a painting or poster is classier with a frame around it, wheels and tires just naturally look better when they’re framed by bright trim. This makes chrome fender trim definitely something to consider if you’re thinking about springing for a set of custom wheels and tires. No matter what size or style you choose, they’ll be even more awesome surrounded by gleaming chrome.

We offer fender trim manufactured from premium grade stainless steel. This type is selected for its strength and high chromium content, which makes it resistant to corrosion. Each piece of trim is designed and manufactured for a specific vehicle, so you can be assured of precise fit and appearance that will perfectly complement your car or truck. For a lasting shine you’ll be proud to show off, our trim is triple chrome plated or polished to a mirror-like finish. Installation method will vary according to vehicle and accessory manufacturer; some moldings are secured with 3M adhesive while others require minor drilling.

Another type of fender trim that used to be prevalent is the ornamentation that adorned fenders and quarter panels, in chrome and polished stainless steel. Such accoutrements would break up monotonous expanses of paint and add eye-catching detail to the body. Alas, many newer models don’t have the trim that earlier models sported, and many body accents on contemporary cars are devoid of bright moldings. We have both chrome laminated TPO plastic and polished 304 stainless steel moldings on our digital shelves, to add the bright detail that results in admiring nods from knowledgeable enthusiasts.

    Chrome Trim: Overlay vs. Replacement
One of the more eye-catching tricks automobile manufacturers have used to differentiate higher-priced luxury versions of a car model from value-priced versions of it has been to vary the amount of chrome trim on the vehicle. Base model cars and trucks (also known as "strippers" or "entry level") have little if any chrome while luxury and top-of-the-line ones have the most chrome. In years past, plain Jane cars were simply painted in all areas instead of being chromed. In more recent decades, the low-cost replacement of choice has become black plastic. This makes base models easier than ever to spot because the eye catches hard on black plastic. Completely missing is the pleasing chrome finish on grilles, door trim, mirror assemblies, light bezels, and other areas. Base models end up looking more like fleet vehicles or work trucks than anything prestigious, especially to people who aren't automotive enthusiasts.

So So Trim
I liked the trim but few things need improved, top edge is too sharp and lip that screws on is too narrow needs to be wider like the looks.
