Bump stops and suspension bumpers are not only the protectors of your suspension system, on many performance vehicles they’re also an integral part of suspension tuning. These small but important components prevent control arms from crashing into frames and keep shocks and springs from over-compressing and becoming damaged, but they can also serve as supplemental springs and dampers. Bump stops are standard equipment on vehicles from the factory, but your OE bump stops aren’t up to the rigors of performance use, and they may not be the right design to be effective when ride height is altered.

Bump stops are especially important on vehicles that have had their ride height changed, such as lifted trucks and lowered cars. When a vehicle is raised, longer bump stops are required to prevent over-compression and damage to springs and shocks. And when a car or truck is slammed, shorter bump stops may be needed to prevent bottoming out. Performance engineered bump stops don’t just prevent damage, they’re designed to provide a cushioning effect at maximum suspension compression, so you get improved ride quality, handling and vehicle stability, even over the roughest terrain.

We offer performance bump stops that mount to the frame, on suspension members, and on damper shafts. We have bump stops made of polyurethane, bump stops made for specific lifts, adjustable bump stops and bump stops in a range of stroke lengths. Our selection is so extensive, you’ll be able to easily get the bump stops that are perfect for your application. When you’re hard into a turn and on the bump stops, they actually provide some suspension compliance, and it’s here where polyurethane shines because it’s much firmer than rubber, for better handling and suspension protection. Polyurethane is the material of choice for performance suspension bushings. It lasts much longer than rubber because it’s impervious to environmental conditions like heat and contaminants like oil that usually cause rubber to deteriorate.

Our bump stops for lifted Jeeps and trucks come in vehicle specific and universal applications. Choose from air, nitrogen gas, hydraulic, and foam cushioning in a range of extended and compressed lengths, and adjustment capabilities. These bump stops provide progressive bottoming control and allow you to use all your suspension travel without fear of expensive component damage, and they’re made from durable materials that can handle the toughest off-road conditions. Hydraulic bump stops typically feature plated billet aluminum housings with hardened steel shafts, and some polyurethane bump stops have reinforced metal plates. We also offer bump stop extensions and spacers that provide increased height while using the OE microcellular urethane bump stops.

If you’re building a serious off-roader, our range of bump stops enables you to get the components that are ideal for your vehicle’s lift and the way you want to tune your suspension. For example, tuning the bump stop’s spring rate can be accomplished using nitrogen gas pressure on some models, while on other units the firmness can be dialed in by changing the number of foam inserts used and their consistency. In effect, many of these bump stops function as secondary dampers and as such feature adjustable compression and rebound valving. You also have your choice of mounting options, including sleeves and mounting cans, so you can choose the style that best suits your suspension arrangement.

Whether you’re a racer or just want the most performance from your street machine, we have the bump stops that will protect the damper by preventing bottoming and help you tune your suspension for improved handling. These bumpers fit around shock or strut shafts, where they allow full suspension travel with a progressive spring rate that prevents vehicle instability and rough ride caused by abrupt maximum spring compression. While availability varies by brand and application, these bumpers come in a range of densities, which corresponds to hardness and spring rate, and heights. Height can also be changed on some applications using washers or spacers. With these bump stops you can tailor the spring rate to your application to optimize handling and ride comfort.

Great Ride
Paired with the Dinan springs these bump stops provide a great ride with significantly improved handling characteristics. Stiffer and less body roll yet still comfortable.
