About Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla is the highest-selling vehicle in the history of the automotive industry. It was first launched at the end of the 1960's, with the second generation following in 1970. Throughout the '70s, the Corolla grew in popularity thanks to its supeiror fuel-mileage. Later, the model was available as a sedan, hatchback, and station-wagon. In the 1980s, the Toyota Corolla was available as a front-wheel drive hatchback and five-door wagon as well as a rear-wheel drive two-door coupe and three-door hatchback. The sixth generation of the Corolla was available mostly as a front-wheel drive cars. In 1993, the Corolla was powered by an inline four-cylinder sixteen-valve engine and available in three versions: the DX, LE, and wagon. In 1996, its wagon version was discontinued.

The eighth generation of the Corolla was launched in 1998. It was equipped with a 1.8 L four-cylinder engine. Side airbags also became an option for the first time. The model was offered only as a sedan. The ninth generation of the Corolla was launched in 2003. The car was available in five trim levels: the CE, S, LE, XRS, and CE. The CE, S and LE trims came with a 1.8 L four-cylinder engine making 126 HP, while the XRS was powered by a 1.8 L engine producing 164 HP. The XRS was available with a standard manual transmission, while other trims came with an automatic transmission. The CE offered a CD stereo system, air conditioning system, and an adjustable driver's seat. The S featured a number of stylish exterior parts including a rear spoiler, distinctive “smoke” headlights, and a body kit. The LE model was the luxury edition. The XRS was equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, alloy wheels, and a firmer suspension.

The tenth generation of the Toyota Corolla was introduced for the 2009 model year in five trim levels: base, LE, S, XLE, and XRS. The XRS was equipped with a 2.4L inline four-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower. The LE offered a number of power accessories and air conditioning. The Corolla S presented a sportier profile thanks to its exterior styling cues. The 2015 Toyota Corolla keeps with this model's reputation for frugal transportation, while adding a lot more appeal over the Corolla of two years ago. The current Corolla offers a sharper, sportier look, quieter cabin, and a wide range of sophisticated technologies that today's small-car shoppers expect. Compared to previous models, the current Corolla features a sportier look, quieter cabin, and a number of new in-car technologies that today's sedan buyers expect. The 2015 Toyota Corolla is about three inches longer than the pre-2014 Corolla and offers a longer wheelbase with the wheels farther out near the corners of the car, which gives a sportier stance, plus more interior space.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla is the first car in its class equipped with standard LED headlights. To offer something for everyone, the car is available in four trim levels: L, LE,LE Eco, and S. The 2015 Toyota Corolla comes standard with a 1.8 L four-cylinder DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) 16-valve engine making 132 HP and 128 lb. ft. of torque, while the Corolla LE Eco is powered by a 1.8 L four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine with Valvematic technology making 140 HP and 126 lb. ft.
