Even though a significant number of trucks and SUVs are equipped with receiver hitches, many hitches go unused and never see towing duty. But even on rigs that regularly pull a trailer or camper, the hitch is idle more often than not. Some carriers have several holes to accept the hitch pin, so you can adjust the position of the carrier and spare tire in relation to the vehicle body.
