Trunk mounted racks can be adjusted to fit a variety of vehicles. They are relatively inexpensive compared to other type racks, and the adjustable mounting straps make them easy to install. Most trunk mounts carry 2 or 3 bikes cradling the frame tubes on 2 rack arms, but platform trunk mounts that carry the bikes by the wheels are also available. On many trunk mount racks the arms fold down for storage and to make parking easier when not carrying bikes.

Featured Products

You have the most options when selecting a roof mount bike rack. Fork mount carriers secure the front fork to the rack with a skewer for maximum stability. Wheel mount carriers don’t require front wheel removal and are an excellent choice if you have different kinds of bikes and want to protect the frame. Frame mount carriers can be used with just about any type of bike and are easy to load and secure. Each of these carriers mounts easily to your base roof rack and there’s usually space for multiple carriers. Plus you have the convenience of being able to leave the carrier in place when not hauling a bike.

The low height of a hitch mount bike rack makes it the easiest to load of any bike rack. Hitch mounts are available to fit 1 ¼” and 2” receivers and many fit both. Choose from arm type carriers that can carry up to 5 bikes on the frame tubes, or platform types that cradle up to 4 bikes at the wheels. Platform type hitch mounts can secure the bikes at the wheels or the frames. Some racks have a tilt-away feature that allows access to the rear of the vehicle, but the bikes must first be removed. Premium hitch mounts may have a swing-away feature, which provides rear vehicle access without having to remove the bikes.

The bed of a pickup truck is a convenient, easily accessible place to carry one or more bikes, but just laying them on their sides isn’t the best idea if you want to prevent scratches or more serious damage. We have a variety of truck bed mount racks, including fork mounts, wheel mounts, and even a simple tailgate pad that allows bikes to be draped over the tailgate without risk of damage to the bikes or truck. And if your SUV has a rear mounted spare, consider making use of it for bike transport with an easy to install and easy to load and unload spare tire mount bike rack.

Bicycle riding, whether done for leisure, for exercise, or for sport, seems to be more popular than ever, at least judging by all the weekend riders we see hitting the pavement and the trails all over the place. In fact, bicyclists are saddling up 12 months a year; they certainly are not letting weather and temperature extremes prevent them from pedaling the miles.

2009 Toyota Matrix / Posted by Robert (Burlington, NC) /

This was a great purchase for me and I highly recommend this to anyone. I bought this one because it was made to fit my existing roof rack without any special adapters. I'm able to use it on any of my cars roof racks (all Toyota). The rack came completely assembled and ready for use. It takes less than 10 minutes to attach it to the car. The bike was easy to fit in and secure down. I bought the additional lock cylinders which secures the rack to the car and the bike cable to the bike and rack.
