Whether you’re challenging trails off-road or gliding over smooth pavement, if you like riding a bicycle you can greatly expand your riding area with a bike rack mounted on your vehicle. When you transport your bike on a bike carrier you can experience woods or roadways that would be impractical to ride to. Roof mount bike racks mount to the crossbars on a roof rack, so having a roof rack on your vehicle is a prerequisite. We offer a wide range of roof racks for every type of vehicle roofline, but many of you are probably driving a vehicle that came with a roof rack from the factory. Roof racks are standard equipment on many SUVs, minivans and crossovers. Roof mount bike racks are convenient because they can remain on the roof rack when not in use.

There are round, square, aero, and factory crossbars. Most of the bike racks we offer can be mounted to several crossbar profiles, while others are only for specific shapes. Rest assured that no matter what type crossbar you have on your roof rack, we have a bike carrier to fit. Most carriers can be quickly attached to the crossbars without the need for tools. Since bikes and roof mount carriers don’t take up a lot of room, you can easily carry 4 or more bikes on a roof rack depending on the vehicle, or use the space next to a single bike to carry cargo or other sports equipment.

Although hoisting bikes up on the roof can be a stretch for some depending on the height of the vehicle, modern bikes are lightweight, and once mounted they are completely out of the way. Roof mount carriers don’t restrict access to the trunk or tailgate as trunk mount and hitch mount racks can, and your rearward vision is unobstructed. If you’ve decided that a roof mount bike rack is the type for you, there are three different kinds to choose from: fork mount, wheel mount, and frame mount. Frame mount carriers secure the bike at the frame. They’re easy to attach and compatible with just about any style bike.

Wheel mount carriers secure the bike to the rack at the front wheel. Most bike types can be mounted on a wheel mount rack and they’re a good choice for bikes with frames that could be damaged with a frame mount rack. To use a fork mount rack the front wheel must be removed. It can be carried inside the vehicle but mounts are available so it can be attached to the roof rack. A skewer on the front rack mount clamps the bike’s forks to the rack. A fork mount rack provides excellent security and stability. Most roof mount bike racks have locking mechanisms to secure the carrier to the roof rack and the bike to the carrier.

Bike Racks: Secure Carrying Ability For Your Two-Wheeler
Bicycle riding, whether done for leisure, for exercise, or for sport, seems to be more popular than ever, at least judging by all the weekend riders we see hitting the pavement and the trails all over the place. In fact, bicyclists are saddling up 12 months a year; they certainly are not letting weather and temperature extremes prevent them from pedaling the miles.
