Extras such as paddle shifters and advanced quick shift are standard.

Volvo offered several models of the V60: the Polestar, Ocean Race, Plug-in Hybrid, and Cross Country. The Plug-in Hybrid model was unveiled in 2011, but became available on the market only for the 2013 model year. The V60 Polestar was unveiled as a limited model in 2013. This V60 got a retuned engine, a great number of suspension upgrades, new sway bars, and six-piston Brembo brakes. It also received some cosmetic changes that include a different rear and front splitter, custom 20-inch alloy wheels, and contrast interior stitching. The V60 Ocean Race was a special version of the vehicle that had unique details like distinctive alloy wheels, contrast interior stitching, special interior detailing, etc. introduced to the public in 2014. The V60 Cross Country was also released in 2014. Built to deliver a luxurious driving experience coupled with go-anywhere capability, it got bold fender extenders, dynamic skid plates, 18-inch alloy wheels, and leather sport seats. In 2017, the Ocean Race and Plug-in Hybrid models were phased out from the American market.
