The Kia Sedona is a minivan manufactured by Kia Motors since 1998. The vehicle was marketed under various nameplates in different countries. In Korea the minivan was known under the Kia Carnival name, while in Malaysia it was imported as the Naza Ria. The vehicle was marketed under the Kia Sedona name in the United States. The first generation Kia Sedona was produced during 1998-2006. In the minivan segment of American automotive market, the Sedona competed with Ford Windstar/Ford Freestar, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna and the Chrysler minivans. The Kia Sedona came with a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 195 hp and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Later a 5-speed automatic transmission was offered. Unlike other minivans, Kia Sedona lacked power sliding doors and power liftgate, navigation system, a folded flat third row seat, rear-view camera and backup sensors. Nevertheless, the Kia Sedona quickly made an impression and became Kia's best-selling car in the United States.

The second generation Kia Sedona was introduced for 2006 model year at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show. In the North American market the Kia Sedona is offered with single engine and transmission option. The power comes from 3.8-liter Lambda V6 engine produced by Hundai, rating 240 hp. This engine is provided with continuously variable intake valve timing and paired to 5-speed manual transmission. The Kia offers the Sedona in a short (SWB) wheelbase and a long (LWB) wheelbase. Compared with the first generation, the LWB models feature a 2-inch-wider front track and 3-inch-wider rear track. The SWB model is built on the new VQ platform, which is designated to Kia Magentis/Optima in order to enter the large MPV segment of the European market. The short wheelbase model followed the 2007 model year. There are the following available trim levels: Sedona (SWB), Sedona EX (LWB) and Sedona LX (LWB). For 2007-2009 model years, a rebadged Kia Sedona was introduced as the Hyundai Entourage. The minivan earned maximum safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to IIHS, the 2006 Sedona is a "Gold Top Safety Pick", the vehicle and its twin Hyundai Entourage showcase the top safety level compared with currently tested minivans.

For the 2011 model year the Kia Sedona parts were updated. The van received a new corporate grille, known as the "tiger nose" and designed by Peter Schreyer, Kia's chief design officer. The 2011 Kia Sedona is offered in the following trim levels: LX and EX. The production of the short-wheelbase model has been discontinued. The new minivan is equipped with updated equipment and a more powerful engine. All models are powered with 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 271 hp. This all-new engine is teamed with a new 6-speed automatic transmission and offers better fuel economy. Following the Kia's high value tradition, all Sedona models feature a wide range of standard features and amenities. For providing the customers with maximum convenience and entertainment, the 2011 Sedona offers 4 different option packages.

You can't do much better when it comes to a minivan that Kia's Sedona. More than enough interior room to fit three rows of enthusiastic passengers, the Sedona also has a host of creature comforts spread throughout. An accessible and tech-savvy dash panel highlights the cabin, bringing convenience and decor to an area normally underrated. It performs with a good measure of conviction and soothing handling, elevating its drivers past the competition. CURT® - T-Connector
This is replacing one that I installed about 5 years ago and quit working. I wish it would have lasted longer but the fact that it is plug and play made the replacement not so difficult.
