The Mini Countryman offers the retro styling and driving verve expected from the British brand in a bigger package. For 2021, Mini's one and only crossover to date received a mild facelift. The changes are largely cosmetic and make the exterior design all the more expressive. Up front, the headlights and fog lights adopt LED technology as standard. The grille got slight tweaks, while both front and rear bumpers have been remodeled. Perhaps the most notable change is the new look of the tail lights whose lighting elements are shaped to form the Union Jack motif. The Piano Black Exterior is a new option that enhances the SUV's appearance with black accessories. All Minis offer an extensive array of customization possibilities, but with our 2021 Mini Countryman accessories and parts, you can make your vehicle truly your own.
A cosmetic refresh continues to the interior. The distinctive round center stack got a nicer black trim and there are a couple of new leather upholstery choices available, along with a new option for the digital gauge panel. As always, there are tons of 2021 Mini Countryman parts and accessories offered on the market for owners to personalize the cabin to their liking. On the inside, the Countryman is roomy enough to comfortably seat up to five adults. The back seats slide, recline, and tilt; they also split and fold in a 40/20/40 configuration to accommodate more cargo if necessary.
The Countryman enters 2021 with the same wide variety of powertrains, with the only exception being the absence of a 6-speed manual gearbox. In FWD crossovers, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission routes engine power, while non-electrified AWD models come with a conventional 8-speed automatic. For 2021, the engines of the Countryman got upgraded turbocharging systems, but this change didn't translate into a power boost. The base 1.5-liter turbo I3 makes the same 134 hp. For those who'd rather benefit from more power on tap, there's a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 option with 189 hp, installed under the hoods of the Cooper Countryman S and S All4. The John Cooper Works model comes exclusively with all-wheel drive and develops 301 hp and 331 pound-feet of torque. A sport-tuned suspension that the JCW version rides on makes for controlled, agile, athletic handling. The Mini Cooper Countryman hybrid uses a three-cylinder and an electric motor, producing 224 hp in total.
To attract first-time car buyers, Mini has launched the Oxford Edition for the Countryman that builds on the base model. While having more standard features than the entry-level Countryman, this newly-available special-edition vehicle costs less. With extra equipment that includes heated seats and run-flat rubber wrapped around 18-inch wheels, this version of the crossover is a bargain buy for young drivers. The limited-production Boardwalk Edition package brings a stylish appearance upgrade inspired by Britain's seaside walkways. It spruces up the Countryman's exterior with a two-tone black-and-blue paint job and 19-inch alloy rims, while bringing more equipment like roof rails and all-LED exterior lighting.
