Jeep Cherokee Trailer Hitches

About Jeep Cherokee Trailer Hitches

The Jeep Cherokee has a classic styling design and a single body configuration. It has a nimble handling capability, with sharp steering and a firm ride. Its suspension is also quite sturdy, enabling it to maneuver tight bends with minimal body roll. The Jeep has a reasonable seating capacity and some decent cargo space. Its strong engine gives it tremendous towing capacity. Attaching a trailer to it seems the natural thing to do. This would require a top grade trailer hitch to hook your trailer to your car. CARiD stocks Jeep Cherokee trailer hitches from the most reputable suppliers. Brands such as CURT, Hidden Hitch, Draw Tite and Pro Series among others have a strong reputation for high quality production and great customer service. Their hitches are designed by skilled professionals using the latest technology to guarantee precision and safety. Premium materials are used in the manufacturing process to ensure durability and reliable performance.

Some of the products on offer include weight-carrying hitches and weight-distribution hitches. Gooseneck and 5th wheel hitches are made for pickup trucks and large, heavier trailers. Trailer hitches typically transfer 10% of the trailer weight onto the tongue. Weight-bearing hitches transfer the entire tongue weight onto the rear axle making the back heavy and the front light. This creates road safety concerns for your vehicle and other road users. Preferably, use an equalizing hitch to move some of the weight to the front. CARiD also stocks the necessary accessories required for the setting up of the trailer. These include hitch covers, electrical connectors and other components. Jeep Cherokee trailer hitches are completely welded constructions designed to bolt onto your vehicle in less than half an hour. No drilling action is required. All you need is a set of the right tools and an instruction manual to guide you through the process in a systematic manner.

Trailer hitches, properly called receiver hitches, are all the rage in our truck-obsessed society. When 50% of the new vehicle purchases in the USA today are some kind of pickup truck, SUV, or minivan, the addition of a hitch at the rear of the vehicle makes perfect sense. Depending on the vehicle, a properly installed and rated rear hitch can pull up to 18,000...
There are four major types of trailer hitches, regardless of whether they are installed at the factory or added on afterward. A hitch may simply have a bar sticking out past the bumper with a ball mounted to it. Or there may be a square receiver that takes a ball mount that slides into it. In all cases, there are different weight ratings.
When you’re setting up your trailer with a new tow vehicle, several things need to be considered: the ball mount and ball must be rated to take the weight, and the ball has to be at the right height. Once you have determined the proper weight class, choose a ball mount of a high enough class for your trailer, and set up your ball mount and ball for proper towing....

I had to take this hitch to a machine shop to get the side pieces squired up and the holes made a little bit bigger. When the side pieces are welded on, it draws in, especially the farther you get away from the squire bar the worse it is. Worked good after that but not an easy fix I could of done myself.
