Honda's resident roadster, the S2000, was introduced for the 2000 model year. The model was designed as a stylish, performance-based vehicle that was also efficient and economical. When it first rolled off the line, the front-engine/front-wheel drive Honda S2000 was outfitted with a 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine capable of 240 horsepower and 153 pounds-per-foot of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission with Torsen limited slip differential. Minimal changes were made to the Honda S2000 parts for its second year on the road, but come 2002, Honda gave the car a slight revision. The exterior received new chrome taillight rings and an aluminum hardtop became optional while inside the model, silver accents and a new shifter-knob were added.

2004 is when the first major redesign of the Honda S2000 parts was implemented. The previous 2.0L engine was replaced with a new 2.2L configuration, which produced the same amount of horsepower but saw the torque rating increase to 167 pounds-per-foot. As for its overall appearance, new headlights and LED taillights were brought in, as were ovular exhaust tips and 17" wheels. In 2006, the Honda S2000 parts were updated again. This time, the interior was revised with such upgraded accessories as new seats and speaker-installed headrests. The wheels were redesigned slightly and electronic stability control was added for the first time, as well.

In 2007, Honda unveiled the new S2000 at the New York International Auto Show and included the new Club Racer (CR) trim level. The S2000 CR showcased a stiffer, sporting-inspired suspension, Bridgestone tires, a large rear-spoiler, and other body-centric additions were also put into the design for an improvement in aerodynamics as well as for the car's overall sporty image. And whereas the previous versions of the S2000 offered a power-folding soft top, the CR came standard with the previously-optional hardtop. 2009 became the Honda S2000's last model year. For 2009, the S2000 was made available in both the "base" and CR trims. The powertrain was kept similar to the previous editions, with the 2.2L/240 horsepower configuration directed through a six-speed manual transmission.
