The heavy-duty pickup truck market in the U.S. is thriving, dominated by the domestic Big Three. One of the most prominent positions of this segment belongs to the Ford Super Duty F-Series. Unlike the smaller Ford F-150 that is good for occasional hauling of oversized cargo, the Ford F-250 is designed for serious work. The third generation Super Duty series was introduced in 2011 at the Chicago Auto Show. One of the major changes made that year was the addition of a locking differential. The 2012 Ford F-250 received a gooseneck hitch available on a 6.75-foot cargo box. The truck is offered in Regular Cab, SuperCab, and CrewCab configurations. A 6.75-foot or an 8-foot bed is available. Trim levels include the base XL, intermediate XLT, prestigious Lariat, and luxurious King Ranch.

For those who need real heavy-duty power, the 2012 Ford F-250 offers a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 capable of 385 horsepower and a 6.7-liter turbo-diesel good for 400 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a heavy-duty six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. As part of the optional equipment, the compressed natural gas/liquid propane preparation package was also added for 2012. The TowCommand System incorporates towing brakes, ABS, and TorqShift automatic transmission in one platform to ensure safe and reliable towing. A tailgate step makes it easier to access the bed.

Even though the Ford F-250 is designed for hard work, its interior will surprise you with the high level of comfort and convenience. XLT and Lariat trims offer plush-covered seats with optional heated power-operated front seats, a carpeted floor, lockable storage, large LED screen for displaying important information about the truck’s systems and navigation. The King Ranch trim pushes luxury to a limousine level of comfort. But if you don’t want to spoil the interior of your truck with dirt, you can always choose the basic XL trim with easy-to-clean surfaces in the cabin.

If you have chosen the truck from the Ford Super Duty series as your workhorse, you know it will stand anything you throw at it. But sooner or later you’ll probably need to replace some components even on a truck this strong. Therefore, it is good to know a reliable source for 2012 Ford F-250 accessories and parts. Didn't last 4 days and the passenger side unit is out, no low or high beam, the Halo is flickering. Spyder won't warranty their own product or provide parts to fix the defective product they sent me. Buy your lights from someone else.
