Trailer Tool Boxes

Any endeavor or activity has associated gear and trailer towing is no different. At the basic level you need safety chains, trailer balls and covers, ball mounts, hitch covers, and locks. But instead of keeping these items in your tow vehicle or in the garage where they can be easily misplaced, why not store them where you can get your hands on them when they’re needed, right on the trailer? Our trailer tool boxes are the perfect storage solution. They’re shaped to mount right on the tongue, allow you to keep your gear in one place where it’s easily accessible, and lockable for security.

A trailer tool box is specially designed with unequal front and back sides so it can be mounted on the A-frame that forms the tongue on a typical trailer. Unlike what you would have with an ordinary rectangular tool box, once mounted there are no sharp corners hanging over the sides of the trailer frame that could snag or cause injury. But even with this unorthodox shape, trailer tool boxes can hold a lot of gear, and come in a range of sizes and materials, including aluminum with rugged diamond plate finish, heavy-duty poly plastic, and powder coated steel.

Beyond basic trailering gear, a trailer tool box is also a good place to stow the gear that’s appropriate to the type of trailer you have or the cargo you’re hauling. Store tie-down straps, bungee cords, and cargo nets to keep cargo secure. Carry flashlights, duct tape, wire ties, spare bulbs, a lug wrench, tire plugs and a tire pressure gauge for emergencies and trailer maintenance. A trailer tool box is also a great place for tools, spare parts and maintenance and repair needs like spark plugs, tubes, chain, cables, lubricants, and oil for dirt bikes, ATVs and lawn and garden equipment.

Regardless of the size or material you choose for your trailer tool box, you can count on strong construction that ensures durability and security for your cargo. All of our trailer tool boxes are lockable and come with keyed locks or a hasp for a padlock. Methods employed to prevent the entry of water that could cause corrosion and damage include lids and channels shaped to prevent moisture intrusion and weatherproof seals. Gas struts are supplied with some trailer tool boxes that push the lid open when the handle is pulled. But if you don’t have a trailer with an A-frame tongue, or a traditional trailer tool box doesn’t suit your needs, we have other storage solutions that will enable you to carry your gear.

Our slide out cargo bin systems mount to the underside of your trailer or RV chassis. The system includes a sturdy steel framework that bolts to the trailer or RV frame and 2 molded plastic 100 lb. capacity storage bins with hinged lids that slide out from either side for easy access. The bins are secured to the framework with spring loaded pins, but they can also be easily removed to facilitate loading and unloading cargo. We offer several size systems so you can get the one that’s ideal for your trailer, including a model that has provisions for carrying a spare trailer tire in the center of the framework between the storage bins. The cargo bin system with spare tire carrier includes a built-in winch with crank handle.

Aluminum Can Trailer Tongue ‘Box’
This box is pretty shiny. It is paper thin aluminum. So light that if you drive with it in the back of your truck without securing it, it would probably fly out. Doesn’t make sense that the freight cost is so high for something so light. Haven’t used it yet and I am sure that it will dent super easy and then look like a crushed aluminum can!

Trailer Tongue Box
Alum. is good thickness. Channel adds sidewall rigidness. Lock is strong and latch release is protected on inside from bouncing item that have opened other boxes while in route.
