Every trailer needs a jack at the tongue to support the trailer when not connected to the vehicle and raise or lower the tongue when connecting to the trailer hitch. Depending on the type of trailer and where you park, you may need additional jacks for support, leveling and stabilization. From small utility trailers to big 5th wheels and gooseneck trailers, we have all your trailer jack needs, including tongue jacks in a wide range of capacities, heights and styles; landing gear and heavy-duty jacks for RVs; stabilizing, leveling, and support jacks; and jack replacement parts and accessories.
The typical tongue jack has a hand crank for raising and lowering, and a caster wheel or support foot where the jack meets the ground. When selecting a jack the trailer tongue weight and height must be considered in order to obtain a jack with the right capacity and length. The jack capacity must meet or exceed the tongue weight, and the extended height of the jack must allow the coupler to be raised over the ball, yet retract enough to clear the ground when towing. Our selection of jacks for receiver hitch trailers includes A-frame, side-mount, pipe-mount and drop-leg jacks.
A-frame jacks bolt or weld behind the coupler on A-frame trailers. We offer jacks that manually crank from the side or top, or consider one of our 12V electric jacks that raise or lower the tongue effortlessly with the touch of a button. Side-mount jacks bolt or weld to the side of straight tongue or A-frame trailers and many can swivel at the mounting point so they are parallel with the trailer frame for ample towing clearance. Pipe-mount jacks are a type of swivel jack that pivots in a weld-on section of pipe. Many square jacks have a drop-leg feature that saves cranking time and effort to raise the trailer. Marine jacks have heavy-duty construction and a zinc finish to withstand repeated immersion in water and resist corrosion.
It’s not a good idea to leave a heavily loaded trailer sitting on the tires in one spot for a long time, and if you have an RV or work trailer, you’ll want additional stability when parked. You can’t always get the best place to park your trailer and if it’s on an incline and you’re going to be inside of it or the cargo requires it, you’ll need to level the trailer. We have jacks to provide support, stability, and to level the trailer, so no matter where you roam you can be prepared for the conditions and the landscape. Our landing gear jacks will help stabilize and support your RV and take some of the load off of the tires, and they’re available in manual crank and 12V powered models. We also have tripod jacks to provide support at the 5th wheel kingpin or gooseneck hitch.
We have scissors jacks on our digital shelves that can extend to 30” and hold up to 5000 lbs., and these also come in manual and electric versions. Each has a large base so they work well on both hard and soft ground, however we can also supply you with jack pads if you need more stability. We also offer a variety of both manual and electric stabilizers and jacks for trailers including models designed specifically for 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers. These include adjustable jacks that telescope or retract and extend. With these jacks securely attached, you won’t have to worry about your trailer tipping when you’re inside, loading or unloading.
You may already have the jacks you want on your trailer, but they may not work as well as they once did. Most trailers spend the majority of their time sitting outside exposed to the elements, and this can result in corrosion and functional deterioration. But there’s no need to discard that equipment because we have the replacement parts to make them as good as new. Browse our selection and you’ll find an ample supply of casters, foot pads, bearings, gear kits, tube caps and crank handles, as well as service kits and miscellaneous parts. We also have upgrades available including an electric powered drive kit for heavy-duty drop-leg jacks. This kit can be used to power two jacks and comes with remote switch box, circuit breaker, and weather resistant cover.
