The saloon of the car was equipped with a wide range of appliances. The standard version was provided with a StabiliTrak system. The engine of Saturn was both economic and powerful, fuel consumption economy made 33 mpg highway and 26 mpg city/highway combined .

In 2008 the Saturn Company presented the renewed version of the Astra. The modernized vehicle received enhanced design, new engines and an expanded package. The standard for Astra was a 1.8l DOHC 140hp engine, equipped with a 5-gear mechanic or 4-gear automatic transmission. StabiliTrac system was standard for the 3-door version variant, known to be the sports one, and for the 5-door version it was optional.
