There are many performance exhaust system manufacturers that make extravagant power claims, with a lot of talk about increased flow with huge exhaust tubing. But their systems usually make the most power at 5000-6000 rpm, an rpm range seldom used on the street, even by performance vehicles. And those sewer pipe sized tubes actually reduce torque at lower rpm, where you need it the most.

The Gibson Dual Extreme Cat-Back Exhaust System is designed and built to make horsepower and torque for real world driving conditions. Dyno results show that this system makes maximum horsepower and torque at 1800-3000 rpm, where you can feel it during every day driving and where you need it when doing things like towing a trailer. And along with that increased power and improved performance you get better fuel economy, an aggressive, powerful exhaust tone, and bold style from 2 separate exhaust pipes and 2 polished exhaust tips that exit at an aggressive angle behind each rear tire.

Gibson designed this exhaust system at their fully equipped research and development center, using engine and chassis dynos, flow benches and audio testing equipment. To make useable real world power, Gibson equips this system with the Superflow muffler and mandrel bent tubing. The all-welded construction Superflow muffler is baffled and chambered for better volume efficiency with unrestricted flow. It's so efficient it has only 5% exhaust flow restriction, as opposed to the 34% or more restriction in a typical stock muffler, and the 10-20% restriction that exists with some aftermarket mufflers. And the increased flow and great sound is achieved without using any muffler packing, so there's no packing to blow out. Your exhaust flow and sound will remain consistent throughout the life of the muffler.

The other key to less restriction and improved flow is mandrel bent tubing. First Gibson selects the optimal tubing diameter for the best engine efficiency, not the most exhaust flow, then they use CNC mandrel tube benders to make every tubing bend. Mandrel bending ensures smooth bends and makes sure the pipe maintains its size and shape throughout the entire length. Tubes that aren't mandrel bent can lose a percentage of their diameter in sharp bends, creating restriction. CNC mandrel bending provides consistent bending so every system flows as designed.

Finally, all Gibson exhaust system components are joined with a “slip fit”, where an exhaust system component fits into the larger opening of the next downstream component. This method reduces the turbulence that is common with ‘ball-and-socket” or “flange-and-gasket” joints, which can cause power-robbing backpressure.

The Gibson Dual Extreme Cat-Back Exhaust System is available in your choice of stainless steel or aluminized steel. Each comes with highly polished dual T304 stainless steel clampless exhaust tips. The system comes with everything required for installation, including zinc plated factory style hangers and clamps, and detailed instructions. Aluminized systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, but not rust through, for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the system is installed. Warranty Information

All Gibson Products are covered by limited lifetime warranty, except UTV Exhausts.
UTV Exhausts are covered by One Year Limited Warranty.

Gibson Performance warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which it was originally installed and sold within the United States.

If a defect in workmanship or materials is found by Gibson factory inspection, Gibson sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the product. This warranty only covers the product and not the labor cost of removal, installation or shipping charges. The obligations of Gibson under this warranty are limited, and shall not exceed the cost of non-confirming parts.

Failure to provide proof of purchase, Damage from collision or accidents, improper installation, altered/modified or changed in any way, off-road or racing use, vehicles equipped with non-factory supercharged, turbo-charged or nitrous oxide, road hazards, incorrect timing and external heat wraps.

Products which have been modified or altered, corrosion, peeling, blemishes, discoloration, internal rust, surface rust, rust through, road hazards, lack of maintenance, or extremes of heat or cold. Cost of labor incurred to install or remove the product. Additional parts required to complete installation, shipping charges, loss of use of vehicle, car rentals, towing and other expenses. Damage to chrome plating, gaskets, burnout, paint and parts blown out by a “back fire” and the cost of customer applied aftermarket coatings. Individual customers sound preference or mufflers meeting the specific sound ordinance in any city, county or state are not covered under this warranty. Inconveniences or consequential damages occasioned by failure of the product, or expressed or implied warranty with respect to this product other than as set forth herein. STAINLESS STEEL PRODUCTS are warranted for internal rust-through.

Easy to install, quality seems to be good, sound is great at an idle, really disappointing under heavy load, and not because it's a V6, because it's just a bit weird. Overall, a good product.

Good Product
The system is really nice but crappy assembly some pieces do need to be cut in order for it to fit properly and don’t use the clamps. They will not hold the pieces together it will need to be welded.

Nice, Deep Tone
It gives a nice, deep tone when the truck is idle and progressively turns to a more throaty sound when driving in the freeway. The stainless tips look great. Super easy to uninstall the OEM exhaust and install this one.
