Product Details

Dual Sport™ Exhaust Systems by Gibson®. Get increased horsepower and torque in the rpm range where you need it most, along with dual exhaust tip style, with the Dual Sport Cat-Back Exhaust System. This Gibson exhaust system makes maximum low end power, which is best for towing, general performance and increased fuel economy, with a deep, commanding exhaust tone. It's available in stainless steel or aluminized steel and comes with dual exhaust pipes and dual polished stainless steel exhaust tips that exit behind the rear tire.

There are many performance exhaust system manufacturers that make extravagant power claims, with a lot of talk about increased flow with huge exhaust tubing. But their systems usually make the most power at 5000-6000 rpm, an rpm range seldom used on the street, even by performance vehicles. And those sewer pipe sized tubes actually reduce torque at lower rpm, where you need it the most.

The Gibson Dual Sport Cat-Back Exhaust System is designed and built to make horsepower and torque for real world driving conditions. Dyno results show that this system makes maximum horsepower and torque at 1800-3000 rpm, where you can feel it during every day driving and where you need it when doing things like towing a trailer. And along with that increased power and improved performance you get better fuel economy, a nice deep, commanding exhaust tone, and a lot of style from 2 separate exhaust pipes and 2 polished exhaust tips that exit behind the rear tire.

Gibson designed this exhaust system at their fully equipped research and development center, using engine and chassis dynos, flow benches and audio testing equipment. To make useable real world power, Gibson equips this system with the Superflow muffler and mandrel bent tubing. The all-welded construction Superflow muffler is baffled and chambered for better volume efficiency with unrestricted flow. It's so efficient it has only 5% exhaust flow restriction, as opposed to the 34% or more restriction in a typical stock muffler, and the 10-20% restriction that exists with some aftermarket mufflers. And the increased flow and great sound is achieved without using any muffler packing, so there's no packing to blow out. Your exhaust flow and sound will remain consistent throughout the life of the muffler.

The other key to less restriction and improved flow is mandrel bent tubing. First Gibson selects the optimal tubing diameter for the best engine efficiency, not the most exhaust flow, then they use CNC mandrel tube benders to make every tubing bend. Mandrel bending ensures smooth bends and makes sure the pipe maintains its size and shape throughout the entire length. Tubes that aren't mandrel bent can lose a percentage of their diameter in sharp bends, creating restriction. CNC mandrel bending provides consistent bending so every system flows as designed.

Finally, all Gibson exhaust system components are joined with a “slip fit”, where an exhaust system component fits into the larger opening of the next downstream component. This method reduces the turbulence that is common with ‘ball-and-socket” or “flange-and-gasket” joints, which can cause power-robbing backpressure.

The Gibson Dual Sport Cat-Back Exhaust System is available in your choice of stainless steel or aluminized steel. Each comes with highly polished dual T304 stainless steel clampless exhaust tips. The system comes with everything required for installation, including zinc plated factory style hangers and clamps, and detailed instructions. Aluminized systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, but not rust through, for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the system is installed. Stainless steel systems are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship, including rust through, for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle on which the system is installed.

Gibson exhaust systems are manufactured in the USA.

Great Purchase
Great addition to my 2004 Toyota Tundra Double Cab! Super easy install, I think it took about 20 minutes for me. Would have to say if looking for a double cab it does not reach your catalytic converter. It makes it about a foot and a half in front of the resignator. Not super loud, but for sure gives your truck its true V8 tone. Highly recommend!

Sounds Great
The product itself is great and sounds amazing. Installing it was fairly easy as well. However, it took over a month to ship which is awful.

Great Upgrade
Sounds good, not as aggressive as I was hoping. Can notice a difference in power too.

Just Ok
Looks great, installed in about 15 min. You do need to clean the tips pretty often for the 1st couple weeks(normal with any new tips from what ive read). The sound is amazing, v4 mode sound will take some getting used to.

Good Looks And Value, But Drony
Nice fit and finish. Price is nice. Professional reviews claimed this cat back had only moderate drone and moderate volume. I find it to have lots of drone and though overall tone is pretty nice it's volume is far above moderate. Its a wake the neighbor exhaust. I'm going to put the Ford resonator back on in front of this system to reduce interior drone. Drone is worse at 30-45 mph in town when tran has you in higher gears to reduce gas burn etc. at 60-80 mph very little drone if any. 2015 F150 5.0.
