Ford has used the Maverick moniker on two vehicles sold in the United States – a compact car from the 1970s and a unibody pickup truck available starting in 2022. Born in the muscle car era, the original Maverick was a Mustang-styled 2-door or 4-door sedan with sporty aspirations, while being a simple economy compact in essence. For those inclined to drive enthusiastically, there was the Grabber version equipped with a Handling package and exterior accessories that lend it a more aggressive look, like a spoiler and unique graphics. The Luxury Decor Option trim level was marketed as a model that offered some of the comfort features of luxury cars at an affordable price. Sales were strong in the first 1970 model year yet declined in subsequent years due to the fuel crisis, new emission control standards, and the increasing popularity of import compacts. The model line was discontinued in 1977. The Ford Maverick got new life as a compact pickup decades later. Whether you own the classic car that you're restoring to former glory or the late-model truck, we've got you covered with the right Ford Maverick accessories and parts.

The revived Maverick arrived just in time to earn its place in the growing small pickup segment. It sits below the Ford Ranger and shares the C2 platform and many parts with the Bronco Sport crossover. The new Maverick is set to appeal to those who are looking for an affordable vehicle for daily commuting and for work. Its five-seat crew-cab cabin and 4.5-foot bed are likely to meet the needs of most buyers who want a more versatile vehicle than a compact SUV or passenger car. The Blue Oval's new offering comes with standard FWD and a 191-hp hybrid powertrain that employs a 2.5-liter I4 and an electric motor. At launch, AWD is only available on non-hybrid Mavericks with an optional 2.5-liter turbo four under the hood, rated at 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. With that engine and an optional Tow package, the vehicle's towing capacity tops out at 4,000 pounds.

For its first year on the market, the Maverick pickup comes in XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. While the upper two trims are a step above the base model with its bare essentials, all have a simplistic interior that prioritizes practicality. It's easy, however, to customize it to every owner's liking, with the aftermarket offering a plethora of Ford Maverick parts and accessories. The standard infotainment system is an 8.0-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration. Safety-wise, automated emergency braking is standard, yet most of the desirable driver assist systems require going with upper trims and packages.
