Introduced at the 2018 New York Auto Show, the XT4 marked Cadillac's first foray into the lucrative compact luxury crossover market. The CUE infotainment system is there, but this time with a user-friendly rotary controller and physical buttons instead of touch controls. Some of the available tech features include wireless charging, navigation, NFC device pairing, and a full suite of driver's aids.

At launch, the Cadillac XT4 comes with a sole 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four making 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft, mated to a 9-speed automatic. The twin-clutch all-wheel-drive is optional, capable of decoupling the rear axle for fuel savings. The front suspension consists of MacPherson struts, while the rear wheels are suspended with a multi-link arrangement. Adaptive dampers are available on Sport models. There is a new electric-hydraulic braking system designed to provide improvements in fuel mileage.
