The Buick Enclave was unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show as a concept car based on the new GM's Lambda platform and partially on the Buick Centieme concept. Sales of this full-size SUV started in 2008 as a replacement for the minivan-based Rendezvous and Terraza and truck-based Rainer. The first year model was equipped with the 3.6L V6 engine that delivered 275 horsepower and was mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Later, the Buick Enclave was refined and updated to bring more fuel economy combined with enhanced power characteristics.
For the first two years of its production, the SUV was suggested in 2 trim levels, the base CX and the luxury CXL. Later, CX, CXL1, and CXL2 modifications appeared in 2010 Enclave. This genuinely first-class vehicle boasts active headlamps, triple-zone climate control, cooled and heated front seats, rear park assist with camera, leather upholstery, and many other high-end amenities. The front-wheel-drive system comes standard and the optional all-wheel-drive is available.
The roomy Buick Enclave can accomodate 7 adult passengers in 3 rows, with additional 2 rear seats, and is regarded as the largest unibody vehicle in the world. It also got the AJAC Best New SUV/CUV in 2008 and was noted for the quality of its interior. Buick Enclave is one of the quietest vehicles in the United States. According to the Customer Reports Magazine, Buick Enclave got an average reliability level and was named to be a 'recommended' vehicle.
You could call the Enclave Buick's new hope for the full-size crossover domination. From its improved MPG to the stock HID headlights, the Buick Enclave features the efficiency and fashion that just might sweep the country off its feet. Its classical, beautifully shaped body, commanding front-end, and top-quality parts underscore the dynamic package that the Enclave offers. While the other big boys on the block have been getting all the attention, the Enclave stands poised to take its place at the very top of the food chain.
