The Acura EL is a compact entry-level automobile that replaced the Acura Integra sedan in the brand's lineup. The production run of the Acura EL comprised two generations, with the first generation marketed from 1997 through 2000 and the second one sold till 2005. The automobile was available in a 4-door sedan body style with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration. Its choice of engines included a 1.6L and 1.7L SOHC VTEC I4, while offering a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission. The second-generation EL was outfitted with ABS. The EL's successor is considered to be the Acura CSX.
