In its base EQA250 Sport guise, the EV comes with a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. It produces 188 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque, sending the SUV to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 99 mph. The dual-motor AWD version is available, putting out 268 horses. A 66.5-kWh battery pack enables the vehicle to go up to 264 miles, as estimated on the WLTP cycle used in Europe. The battery is protected by a strong aluminum shell that is part of the chassis, resulting in an improvement in torsional rigidity. The pack sits under the passenger compartment. Placing it required the engineers to lift the cabin floor up a bit, reducing the interior space compared to that of the GLA. Otherwise, the cabin of the EQA is largely a carryover from its gas-powered sibling. In front of the driver, there's a standard 7-inch digital gauge panel or an optional 10.25-inch unit. The infotainment touchscreen is the same size as the instrument display. Rose-gold trim helps differentiate the EQA on the inside, while the exterior received more of the unique bits, including the different designs of headlights, tail lights, bumpers, and rims.
