They shed 18 pounds off the car’s unsprung mass, allowing for better driving dynamics. In addition, the Limited Edition model sports lighter brake parts up front and revised dampers. Like before, the “regular” Type R and its special edition version are ready to tear up the track thanks to a 2.0-liter turbocharged 306-hp inline-4 mated to a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission.

The regular, non-specialized 2021 Civic lineup is powered by the same two engine options: a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder good for 158 hp or a 1.5-liter turbo four that delivers 174 or 180 hp. A more powerful, 205-hp version of the 1.5-liter engine is reserved for the Civic Si. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a CVT. All models are front-drive.
