The 2018 Acura ILX utilizes a 2.4 L I4 capable of delivering 201 hp directed through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic. The power unit employs such technologies as Drive-By-Wire system, direct injection, i-VTEC, and others. The transmission used by the car was originally developed for racing and features sequential paddle shifters and torque converter. It shifts gears faster and more effectively than conventional automatic gearboxes. The powertrain of the new ILX allows the car to deliver high fuel efficiency of 29 mpg combined. At the same time, the model provides a high level of safety thanks to the corporate ACE body structure, traction and stability control, ABS, rearview camera, and a number of airbags.

Premium and Tech Plus grades can be optionally fitted with an A-Spec appearance package.
