The Lincoln MKZ arrived in 2007. The previous year the model was known as the Zephyr and remained a midsize luxury sedan with a V6 engine. At its debut, the Lincoln MKZ sported a 3.5L V6 good for 263 horsepower mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission. It was available in both front and all-wheel drive and equipped with a wide range of luxury parts and accents. Standard were 17" wheels, leather upholstery, wood accents, power-seats with memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, a seven-speaker stereo system with MP3 capability, and more. Additional options such as chrome wheels, a sunroof, satellite radio, a navigation system, xenon HID headlights, and heated/cooled front seats could also be had. At its debut, the Lincoln MKZ measured in with a wheelbase of 107.4 inches, a width of 72.2 inches, a height of 57.2 inches, and an overall length of 190.5 inches.
In 2008, there weren’t too many changes made to the Lincoln MKZ parts. Offered as options the previous year, satellite radio and heated/cooled front seats became standard equipment on the MKZ. New for the model year was Ford and Microsoft’s joint Sync hands-free communication interface. The navigation system was still only offered as an option and was redesigned to be voice-activated. Rear-parking sensors could also be had for the first time. A year later, electronic stability control was added to the list of safety features for the MKZ, but few other alterations were made to the vehicle. Overall standard safety features were front-seat side-impact airbags, full-length head curtain airbags, and antilock disc brakes.
The Lincoln MKZ was redesigned for the 2010 model year. It was now 57.9 inches, slightly taller than it had been, and also showcased the updated interior parts. While it was still only available in one basic trim level, Lincoln did introduce the Sport Appearance package, which included 18" wheels, distinctive leather upholstery, aluminum trim, and a refreshed front-end grille. Chrome wheels, xenon HID headlights, a blind-spot warning system, backup camera, voice-activated navigation, and a premium THX stereo could be obtained as options, as well. An MKZ Hybrid was unveiled at the 2010 New York International Auto Show. The car will be outfitted with an inline four-cylinder engine that works in conjunction with an electric motor to demonstrate a combined 41 miles-per-gallon.
The Lincoln MKZ is a remarkably versatile luxury sedan that is capable of out-running the rest of the field. Backed by a 3.5 liter V6, it packs more punch than many competitors and delivers a smooth, quiet ride in the process. The exterior is a beautifully designed mix of contemporary sleek and old-fashioned elegant accessories, a trademark of the Lincoln way that many drivers are drawn to. The MKZ impresses on every level and has quickly become one of the more desired vehicles in its class.

Market price: $56.06Every year in summer when nearly all brands have already managed to unveil their new models, the automotive industry wait edgily for the results of the annual Vehicle Dependability Study, held by J.D. Power and Associates. This year the new leaders in the auto segments were named on March 17. The best part is that Lincoln with its MKZ, a midsize sedan, became the winner in the Entry Premium Car segment. This award proves that the brand's quality operating system is among the best in the world.
The results of this survey are of a great importance to Lincoln, as well as for any other auto maker. This is the appraisal that is given by the vehicles' owners after 90 days of ownership. The representatives of J.D. Power request the drivers to indicate any problems, which they faced during the past 12 month. The survey inspectors proposed the drivers to chose from a list of 228 issues in eight different categories.
The current version of the MKZ is a luxury sedan, which runs on a hybrid system. Since the beginning of the year the sales demonstrate a strong consumer demand for the model. The MKZ Hybrid is the first model with a no-charge hybrid powertrain and the most fuel-efficient sedan in the luxury segment.
