The new Jeep Compass that goes on sale next month is priced at $19,295 for the base mode, according to Chrysler.
The significant price-up of $3,830 is totally compensated by the extended set of standard equipment, which now includes air conditioning, heated power side mirrors, roof rails, power windows and locks, cruise control, removable/rechargeable LED flashlight and fog lamps.
The 2011 Compass comes in three trims: base, Latitude and Limited. The latter starts at $24,295 and features such special attractions as climate control and leather salon. Base and Latitude trims are available standard with 158-hp, 2.0L four-cylinder engine at 23/29 mpg city/highway with a five-speed manual transmission. The Compass Limited is equipped with a 172-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder that gets 23/29 mpg. All trims come with antilock brakes, electronic stability control and tire pressure warning.
