Engine Covers

Engine Covers

From hot rodding’s earliest days, it hasn’t been enough to brag about how much power your engine makes or even prove it in a race – car guys want to see what’s under the hood. Go to any car show, cruise night or drive-in and you’ll see the hoods up and car owners showing off their handiwork. Because on a custom car the engine bay has to look just as good as the rest of the machine. But the ways to dress up your powerplant have evolved over the years. We’ve stayed on top of the latest trends in engine dress-up, so we can offer you the cutting-edge engine covers you see on this page.

Early rods featured finned aluminum heads and chrome air cleaners on multiple carbs. As engine technology progressed from flat heads to overhead valves, chrome, aluminum and finned valve covers arrived with matching breathers and valve cover wing nuts; as well as polished aluminum intakes; fat multi-color spark plug wires and decorative looms; chrome, stainless steel, and ceramic coated headers; chrome and anodized open element air cleaner lids; chrome or custom color accessories like alternators and water pumps; and chrome or anodized engine parts like timing covers and oil pans.

We can supply you with all the above if your machine is of the appropriate vintage. But the engines in modern vehicles are different beasts and today’s engine compartments are much more cluttered, so different customizing solutions are needed. The engine in a typical late model vehicle is hidden beneath a myriad of sensors, wiring, hoses, coil-on-plug ignition parts, fuel injectors, fuel rails, etc. Most automakers gave up trying to spiff up the underlying engine components and instead installed engine covers. On some high-end performance models these don’t look too bad, but on many cars and trucks they’re just boring slabs of black plastic and not something you want to show off. If you want eyes to pop when you raise the hood we can help make it happen.

We offer engine covers in high-tech carbon fiber and brilliant, gleaming polished stainless steel for many popular late model vehicles, as well as aluminum and fiberglass covers that can be painted to match your vehicle’s finish or preferred underhood theme. Some feature the automakers logo or engine size. Depending on application, some covers are one-piece shrouds while other engines require multiple covers for the plenum, fuel rails, coil packs, etc. We also have trim pieces to accent existing engine covers including illuminated inserts that shine through perforations, as well as stainless steel oil cap covers with a simulated carbon fiber background in your choice of colors. We even have wire looms with flames that light up in several different colors.

While some lament the modern age of covered engines, today’s enthusiasts can avail themselves of dress up goodies that were unavailable to the customizers of yesteryear. While our forebears could bedeck the actual powerplant with enhancements they had to live with unattractive components like fuse boxes and master cylinders. But those parts don’t have to detract from the view on your modern hot rod. We have carbon fiber and polished stainless steel covers for power steering pumps, fuse boxes, master cylinders, radiators, batteries, intake tubes, washer fluid tanks, coolant tanks, and more. On some models you can literally have bright polished stainless steel covering almost the entire engine bay from cowl to header panel, fender to fender, and even on the underside of the hood.

ACC Upper Hood Cap
ACC® - Polished Upper Hood Cap
Great product after some mods. Directions were incorrect for my 2011 Challenger. Test fitted and it worked. Screws were too small. Went to the hardware store for correct ones and washers. Need to remove weather stripping for best fit. Did not require assist. Did by myself. Total install time after all the above. 20 minutes.
