The Chevrolet Silverado as a standalone model debuted back in 1999 to replace the outdated C/K lineup. Since then, both Ford and Dodge have presented their all-new full-size offerings and so the Silverado and its corporate sibling, the GMC Sierra, had to catch up. And after having added the high-performance SS version for the Silverado 1500, the luxury Denali trim for the GMC-badged rig, an array of other upgrades for the HD line, and even the Prius-inspired Hybrid package, GM seemed to successfully get through.

For the 2005 model year, pickup trucks from the Michigan-headquartered corporation brought not as much as the year before, but still enough to look fresh and attractive. With the aforementioned Hybrid expanding its availability to California, Florida, Alaska, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Canada, those who are interested in the claimed 10%-better fuel economy in a Chevy truck now have more real opportunities to actually get it. With a couple of other minor tweaks in terms of trim levels and packaging, the updated Silverado adds a power sunroof, new tire options, and standard ABS to all models except for the Qudrasteered.

Despite there are no significant changes to the interior of the renewed vehicle, there are some made to the exterior of HD models. However, most notable add-ons can be found under the hood. The regular 1500 gains a boosted version of a 5.3 L Vortec V8, while the 2500/3500 HDs get an uprated 6.6 L Duramax V8 engine plus the new 6-speed Allison 1000 automatic transmission offering better fuel economy and generally improved dynamic characteristics. The sporty SS trim was updated by adding the 2WD option and replacing rear brake rotors with drums, which allowed a slight drop in the price of the pumped-up Chevy.

Got these for my 05 Silverado. So far very impressed. They fit a little tighter than the stock lights but that's not a big deal, and for the price I'm not complaining. If you're looking for lights that are pretty much stock looking, buy these!
