Yakima® 8007202 - SKS Lock Cores

Some Yakima accessories come with SKS lock cores but many do not, and that's intentional. Rather than supplying locks and keys for every accessory, requiring you to have separate keys for your roof rack, bike carrier, cargo box, etc., until you've got a ring full of keys, Yakima believes you'd much rather be able to lock and unlock all your accessories with a single key. SKS stands for Same Key System, and these lock cores are sold in a 2-pack, 4-pack, 6-pack, 8-pack, and 12-pack of lock cores, and in each pack all the cores can be operated with a single key. Two keys are actually included with each pack, along with a control key, which is used to initially install the lock core in the accessory, and remove it (as long as it's unlocked) if necessary.

The SKS Lock Cores come with comprehensive, illustrated instructions detailing how to install and remove the lock core. They're backed by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
