MegaWarrior™ Roof Cargo Basket by Yakima®. This may be the most sensible accessory you can buy for your roof rack. The spacious 52"L x 48"W x 6.5"H cargo basket is sized for larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs, and it's ideal for a variety of cargo including luggage, camping equipment, and fishing gear. It's also perfect for securing odd-size items with a cargo net (sold separately). And you won't have to give up carrying any roof rack accessories because the basket crossbars can accommodate Yakima carriers for boats, skis, bikes, etc. This rugged galvanized steel powder coated basket includes a fairing to reduce wind noise, and attaches quickly and easily with a universal attachment system to round, square, factory, and aero crossbars. An optional 22" extension is available to expand the MegaWarrior's capacity and it can be locked to the roof rack with the optional locking bracket.
Installation
This cargo basket is so useful, once it's mounted on your roof rack you won't ever want to take it down. Sized for larger vehicles like trucks and SUVs, this 52"L x 48"W x 6.5"H basket has the capacity to carry gear you don't have room for or may not want to carry inside your vehicle, including luggage, camping equipment, sports gear, gas cans, and off-road accessories. And the dimensions of the basket can be expanded with the addition of an optional 22" extension. A cargo basket is really great for odd-size items that can be difficult to secure on a roof by themselves. Load them into the basket, secure with the optional cargo net and you can be on your way.
The MegaWarrior, and optional extension, are manufactured from durable galvanized steel tubing that is further rust-proofed by powder coating. With its universal attachment system it mounts quickly and easily to virtually any rack system including those with round, square, factory, and aero crossbars. A custom wind fairing is included to reduce noise, making the basket an unobtrusive addition to your roof rack.
Another reason your cargo basket can remain in place is that its crossbars will accept Yakima accessories. It even includes an adjustable crossbar that can be moved to accommodate the accessories' crossbar spacing specifications, so even with the cargo basket installed you can still mount Yakima boat, ski, and bike carriers. And speaking of carriers, Yakima has developed a line of accessories that enable the MegaWarrior to carry a spare tire, off-road lights, axes, shovels, and a Hi-Lift Jack. The Locking Bracket is another option that is available to prevent the theft of your basket from the roof rack. It locks the basket to the crossbars and includes 2 SKS lock cylinders and keys.
