Product Details

Universal SoundFX™ Steel Aluminized Exhaust Muffler by Walker®. This muffler is the right choice if you opt for quality acoustics and performance. Walker offers 100% aluminized steel SoundFX Mufflers with direct fit and universal fit options available, both designed to maintain a quality appearance and agreeable exhaust tone.

The SoundFX Muffler by Walker is a quality and cost-effective repair alternative. These mufflers are available in both direct-fit or universal configurations. Direct-fit mufflers are designed as a direct OE replacement and constructed specially for your car and perfectly match the OE muffler in size, shape and hanger placement. This configuration allows for easy, worry-free installation. Universal fit muffler is a more economical option as it is not vehicle-specific. It is the same quality as the direct fit SoundFX Muffler, but may require some modifications or changes to install on your vehicle.

Each SoundFX Muffler is manufactured from 100% aluminized steel for greater durability and quality appearance. It features reinforced bracketed heads that help improve structural support and stability. One of the reasons of premature muffler failure is rupture from backfires. To provide effective resistance from backfire and exhaust gas leakage, SoundFX Muffler heads are spun-locked to the shell. Internal tubes are mechanically joined to prevent spot weld breakage and flow tube deformation.

Much Better Than The OEM
Really like the quality the quietness and the performance overall. Very happy and it was easy plug and Play. Of course it will take some effort to get rid of the older one.

Item # mpn1893554: Excellent fitment, (center in/offset out) simply cut the old out and slipped the new one in place. Great sound if you're looking to tone things down and get back - as close to factory - as possible without spending $450.00 on a Chrysler muffler. The quiet flow is a great buy at the CARID price, and shipping arrived in just two days. Keep in mind that the Catalytic Converter contributes greatly to the noise level of the vehicle, The inside of mine had turned to dust - so you will want to check that, and don't scrimp on price replacing it. If the converter needs replacing purchase a "quality" part or you'll defeat your mufflers' ability to function at peak level of deadening sound. Lastly; remember, your (downpipe) O2 sensor is connected to the catalytic converter - if they haven't been replaced in ten years you may want to consider doing that while it's on the rack... just sayin.

Decent
Was good quality over all, but with my luck there was a decent sized hole in the weld of the front flange.

Louder than OEM, Also Stop Putting Paper-Based Stickers on Exhaust Parts
When accelerating, it is noticeably louder than OEM part. FFS why must there be impossible to remove paper based stickers all over these exhaust parts which are meant to get hotter than a conventional oven? Spent half an hour diligently scraping them only to have the residue burn enough to make everything smell like smoke. Spend the extra 2 cents for a plastic based label and pass the price on to the consumer even. We're spending hundreds of dollars on these things, please respect our time enough to put a sticker that comes off the damn exhaust part within one eon of trying to take it off. Also, please include the bolts which fasten the tailpipe to the muffler in the Honda Element exhaust diagram.
