The Volkswagen T-Cross is the German automaker's smallest SUV. Unveiled in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and Sao Paulo in 2019, it enters the small crossover game fully equipped to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Kona and Kia Stonic. Volkswagen's new global SUV is based on the tried and tested MBQ platform, the same that underpins the celebrated VW Polo. With the latest tech, nimble handling, and interior practicality, the T-Cross promises to be a competent city runabout. The subcompact SUV comes in a number of configuration options allowing buyers to have the right vehicle for their needs, but there's always something that owners miss out on even in a range-topping model. Customize your crossover with reasonably-priced Volkswagen T-Cross accessories and parts that come from top brand names.
Available in Europe and Latin America, Volkswagen's pint-size SUV doesn't make its way to North America at launch. On these markets, the T-Cross comes with a choice of four turbocharged engines, including three gasoline units and one diesel. Two 1.0-liter three-cylinders are available, making 94 hp and 113 hp, respectively. The top-of-the-line 1.5-liter four develops a healthy 148 hp for the crossover that small. So equipped, the T-Cross goes from zero to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds and attains a top speed of 124 mph. The 1.6-liter turbodiesel is rated at 94 hp. Depending on the engine, power is routed to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Speaking of the exterior, the Volkswagen T-Cross has a strong family resemblance but features unique design cues and accessories, including the tail lights with a center strip that adds visual width. The T-Cross is a surprisingly spacious five-seater, with plenty of legroom for all passengers. The rear seat slides back and forth 5.5 inches providing either more rear legroom or cargo space. With the rear bench up and set for the most comfortable position, there are 13.6 cubic feet of space in the trunk, while folding it down results in an ample 45.2 cu.ft.
The interior looks and feels a class higher and is packed with modern tech features. All trim levels - S, SE, SEL, and R-Line – have an 8-inch color infotainment touchscreen with Bluetooth and Volkswagen Connect. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility is standard on all but the base model. The R-Line boasts a 10.3-inch display for digital gauges, which can also be optioned on the SE and SEL. With its 5-star safety rating from EuroNcap and a bundle of modern driver aids that include automatic braking, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring, the T-Cross is a great choice for those who prioritize safety. Tailor your crossover to your preferences and keep it in flawless condition with our Volkswagen T-Cross parts and accessories.
