Vehicles go electric at a fast pace, and Volkswagen races toward electrification with its ID lineup of EVs. The Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion concept represents the company’s vision of “the crossover of tomorrow.” Although it’s called a crossover, the Space Vizzion is basically an electric station wagon. Like all other vehicles of the new range, it uses VW’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) underpinnings developed specifically for EVs. The concept is almost production-ready so the overall shape and the majority of Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion accessories, parts, and systems are likely to carry over to the real-world model.
The concept is motivated by a 275-hp electric model mounted out back. An all-wheel-drive 4Motion version with the second 101-hp motor powering the front wheels is planned as well. With an AWD setup, the total output increases to 335 hp and a 0-60 mph run takes 5.0 seconds. The electric motor sources juice from an 82 kWh li-ion battery. With a fast-charging system, the battery pack can be replenished to 80% capacity in about half an hour. The car is expected to go 300 miles between charges, not least thanks to its aerodynamic exterior with 0.24 drag coefficient.
Each and every one of the ID-badged vehicles is packed with innovative tech features and the ID. Space Vizzion is no exception. The cockpit is fully digital, with almost all of the systems operated via touchscreens and voice commands. An Augmented Reality (AR) head-up display projects important driver information on the windshield, replacing the conventional instrument cluster. The dash is dominated by a giant 15.6-inch screen that controls infotainment and comfort functions. The new wagon has loads of technology that elevates ownership experience. However, personal expression can take it to new heights, and there are tons of Volkswagen ID. Space Vizzion parts and accessories that allow owners to personalize their car to their heart’s content.
