LUX Hard Hinged Tonneau Cover by UnderCover®. The LUX is a sleek, durable one-piece truck bed cover that is painted to match the color of your truck. This cover offers all of the same great features of the Classic, with the added benefit of a single-point locking system that controls both locking hinges on the underside of the cover. Its ABS composite construction makes the cover lightweight and easy to handle, making installation or removal fast and simple. Brilliant style lines provide a clean, low-profile look and feel, providing unmatched style and functionality.
The LUX is the next step in the evolution of the UnderCover products. It offers the same great features as its big brother – the SE cover – and comes in a painted to match the factory color of your truck. Each cover is meticulously manufactured, painted, and assembled in state of the art paint facility. The LUX is a painted ABS material, weighing nearly 58 lbs. It can be removed, stored, and then remounted in minutes. This cover has a sleek aerodynamic design with mild ribs and a subtle spoiler, which gives it the look no other product can match. Unlike the Classic cover, this truck bed cover installs using a hidden hinge system that allows for a tighter fit and even faster removal, and comes with a single low-profile twist-lock. A single point lock controls both locking hinges on the underside of the cover providing the same security as the Classic, but with only one key point and a much better look. Brilliant stylelines provide a clean, low profile look to the cover that goes unmatched by any fiberglass lid. This tonneau cover is manufactured from the lightweight yet durable ABS plastics and polymers. It weighs in at around 58 lbs, which means it is the lightest hard-shell tonno on the market. However light the product is, that doesn't mean it's fragile. It can take a beating, and there are two reasons for that. First, it's all about the applied material: ABS is widely used in the auto industry because of its amazing impact resistance and toughness. Second, the cover has a strong X-effect understructure that made it possible to reduce the material mass without compromising the product's strength.
Having this cover installed, you can rest assured that water won't reach those things you carry in the truck bed. The cover features a full-perimeter, weather-tight gasket seal that provides reliable protection when you're traveling in inclement weather conditions. And even if you live in a hot-as-hell state, this cover will easily withstand the desert sun. Thanks to the materials and design, the cover is capable of handling extreme temperatures without any warp or damage. The only thing you should keep in mind is that because the SE Smooth comes ready-to-paint, it is not UV-protected. Without paint applied, the cover is susceptible to sun fade and degradation, so make sure to apply paint as soon as possible.
Custom-designed to fit your truck like a glove, the LUX tonneau cover can be installed in 30 minutes – just clamp the brackets on, set the cover on the truck bed, make the necessary adjustments, and you are ready to head off. In the open position, the cover will be supported by two sturdy struts, while the super-bright LED light will illuminate your truck bed, allowing you to easily find whatever you're looking for. The LED light uses a self-contained battery power source, so there's no wiring involved. To close the cover, use the included nylon pull strap. When you need to haul a bulky item, you can take the cover off, which will take like 5 minutes thanks to the quick-release system, and hang it on the wall (the wall-mount hardware kit is supplied).
