Trailer Couplers & Locks

Trailer couplers are generally very reliable parts, but there can be cause for replacement or upgrading. The average trailer sits out in the elements, and the coupler can corrode, making the clamp and latch inoperable. A frequently used trailer can wear in the ball socket and clamp, and looseness between the coupler and trailer ball can be dangerous. You may also have a different size trailer ball or want to upgrade to a lockable or folding coupler. Whatever your needs, we can help with complete trailer couplers, repair kits and locks.

We have couplers for trailers with straight tongues, in both round and beam-type or channel; and for A-frame tongues, including adjustable and flat-mount couplers. They’re available to suit a wide range of weight capacities and trailer ball sizes. We also offer straight and offset gooseneck trailer couplers. Several style latching mechanisms can be had, including the fast acting and probably most common trigger style, the thumb and wraparound styles that move the latch forward and backward, and sleeve lock style.

Besides matching trailer ball size, weight capacity, and tongue style, there are other features available to consider. An adjustable coupler can be mounted at different heights, which may be desirable if you tow the trailer with different vehicles. This way the trailer can be adjusted to the height of the tow vehicle for level towing. A folding coupler allows the coupler to be folded back against the tongue, which can make the trailer easier to store. And if your existing coupler is in good shape except for the latching mechanism, our repair kits are the economical solution to restoring your coupler’s grip on the trailer ball. We have kits for most popular styles as well as replacement lift handles and locking pins.

Finally, your trailer and cargo are significant investments. Don’t be careless and allow them to disappear. It only takes a few minutes for someone to hook up to your trailer and make off with your valuable possessions. A coupler lock will ensure that your trailer stays attached to the tow vehicle and will also prevent the coupler from being secured to a trailer ball when the trailer is parked. We offer several style coupler locks, including those that secure the latch and lock your trailer to the hitch ball, and those that fit over the ball opening to prevent theft when your trailer is unhitched. Each of our locks is made of strong, durable materials to withstand the weather and resist tampering.

3 Inch Bolt Spacing!
Most 1-7/8 x 3 couplers have 2.25 inch bold spacing pattern. Almost none of them provides this in their specs. I've got a "regular" Bayliner Escort trailer from the 80s and it has 3" bolt spacing. This is what I needed.
