The Suzuki Swift is a subcompact car originally tailored for Japanese and European cities; after the early 1980s, as a result of the business agreement with GM, the vehicle eventually landed on the U.S. shore in 1985, known as the Suzuki Forsa and being rebadged the Suzuki Swift with the launch of a new generation starting 1989. The new model featured a more curvaceous body shape, and it was originally available as 3- and 5-door hatchback, while a 4-door sedan was introduced in 1990; two more generations followed and even though the Suzuki Swift wasn’t especially designed for the American market, it was however a good seller. Two more generations followed in 2004 and 2010, and the Swift was sold up to 2012, when Suzuki withdrew its models from the U.S. market.
