Control arm bushings are components of the automobile’s suspension system. They are fitted between the auto’s control arm and frame and are designed to dampen vibrations, cushion the ride, reduce driving noise, and prevent metal-to-metal contact. These parts also fulfill a significant function in tire alignment. They help to keep road traction; and they also affect tire wear and overall handling. A driver may need new control arm bushings to either replace a faulty part or make a performance upgrade. In both cases, drivers should make sure that the units they obtain are designed for their vehicle and make their choice taking into account different types and materials.
Most vehicles utilize one or two control arms on each wheel. If an auto is front-wheel drive, it often has a lower control arm only, whereas many SUVs and trucks are equipped with upper and lower control arms. Correspondingly, the types of bushings found on a vehicle may include front control arm bushing, rear control arm bushing, front lower control arm bushings, upper control arm bushing, and lower control arm bushing. Most control arm bushings consist of an outer and inner metal shell, and a bushing made of rubber or polyurethane. A huge inventory of quality bushings is available here in our store at a competitive price.
