Starter Relays
Your vehicle's starting and charging system has three major parts, such as the starter, alternator, and battery, but if any of the complementary components like relays and solenoids don't work properly, chances are high that your car won't start. Controlled either by the ignition switch or by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), the starter relay is one of starter control circuit components. This part passes voltage from the car battery to the starter solenoid, activating the starter motor.
When the starter relay receives power, it switches to its 'on' position and remains in it for as long as the key stays in the start position. When the relay fails, it can be stuck in either 'on' or 'off' position, keeping the starter engaged with the flywheel in the first case, which can result in damage to the transmission and starting system parts, and causing a no-start in the second case. If you suspect that a starter relay may be having an issue, show your car to a technician. We provide you and your mechanic with starter relays designed to ensure an OEM level of performance. Choose from starter relays by Omix-Ada, URO Parts, Standard, Crown, etc. and get your vehicle back on the road in no time!
