Product Details

SRC Side Armors by Smittybilt®. When you want the ultimate in rocker area protection as well as a helpful step up into your Jeep, you need SRC Side Armor. Instead of a single tube, these guards have 3 tubes with supports that form a girder system, for protection that extends from wheel-to-wheel and spans from the underside to the entire rocker panel. Constructed from heavy-duty 1.75" diameter 0.120" wall thickness tubing, these guards are dual stage powdercoated in matte black.

Any kind of off-roading, but especially rock crawling, can be rough on your Jeep's rocker panels. Left unprotected, they can be severely damaged by impacts with rocks, tree stumps, and other obstacles. SRC Side Armor guards have 3 tubes instead of 1 that form a dual girder system, for maximum protection of these vulnerable areas. And these tubes extend from wheel-to-wheel and from the underside to just below the doors, for the most extensive protection available. They'll not only provide protection, their smooth surface will help keep you from getting snagged and hung up, so you can keep wheeling instead of trying to get unstuck. Plus, they'll serve as a step to give you an assist getting in and out of your rig.

Manufactured from heavy-duty 1.75" diameter 0.120" wall thickness tubes, the one-piece design arrives ready to install. Each guard is acid bath dipped to remove impurities, a special "E-Coat" is applied inside and out, and a dual stage matte black powder coat finish is applied. These guards install easily to the front and rear body mount brackets, with no drilling required, and detailed instructions are provided. The SRC Side Armor is covered by a limited 5-year warranty against finish defects and a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Built For Jeep...Installed on Avalanche
I bought the SRC Side Armor that is made for a 4 door Jeep hoping it would fit the lines of a Chevy Avalanche with body cladding. It turned out perfect. The side armor is very well made and was easy to modify to fit the bracket hardware for the avalanche.

SRC Side Armor
These match the M.O.D. front bumper really well. Mine went on in 15 minutes (super easy). Super strong. I love them!

Smittybilt SRC Side Armor
I have the 2014 Jeep Wrangler. I ordered side armor, and they came a day earlier. The fit was pretty good, and I had to grind the body mount to get the nut on with socket. They look great. I would buy these again.

Smittybilt SRC Side Armor
One side of the side armor step fit perfectly and was easy to install. However, the other side I had to grind to make larger holes for the screws to fit, since they did not match up properly. Once it took me 2 hours to grind, it fit perfectly, and all looks amazing.

Great for the Use
If your looking for a rock slider these are a great option, they are very close to the door sill so they don’t help much as a step. Directions are unclear, they technically don't mount to the frame in a certain spot, basically anywhere, but once I figured that out the install was easy. Only issue besides the hassle of figuring out the mounting is the bed step sticks out very far, but it helps make sure you don't clip your rear tire on a rock.

Purchase A Few Extra Quality 1/8 Bits
The bottom of the doors had started to rust. Would have been big bucks at a body shop. Getting body filler to look perfect takes a long time. Ground out the rust, hit it with rust converter and filled where needed. Placed these over the work. Looks like we will enjoy many more years with the Jeep. Did break a few bit drilling the holes for the pop rivets. Get a few to spare.

SRC Rocker Guards
This was the second Smittybilt item. The first were tube doors that I had to grind on to make them fit. I was lucky in that I have pneumatic 'metal working' tools to do this with. Good looking products that is half-assembled.
