Side Vents + Port Holes

There’s an old saying: If you wait long enough, it will come back in style. Side Vents and Port Holes are classic styling features that were prominent on cars of the 1950s, but then disappeared from the automotive landscape. They reappeared on a few models a decade ago and today it seems half the new vehicles on the road have some kind of vents or holes in the fenders. But if your ride doesn’t have them, or you want to upgrade the ones you have, you’ll find the perfect set for your car or truck right here on our digital shelves.

No doubt about it, side vents and port holes are hot again. However, if your car or truck didn’t come with them, don’t despair. We have a huge selection of side vents and port holes, including functional ones and those that just look the part; side vents that stick on and ones that require cutting the fender. Our port holes come in every shape imaginable including round, square, oval and rectangular, and our side vents have real or simulated mesh or louvers. We even have side vents that light up, and look great in the dark.

Side vents and port holes started out as functional features on older cars to exhaust excess heat from under the hood, but most evolved, particularly port holes, to become mainly styling elements. The first ones installed on certain late 1940s models were supposedly inspired by the exhaust ports on WW II fighter planes. Even the number of port holes was used to indicate a model hierarchy, with 4 port holes on more expensive, high line models with big engines and 3 port holes on lesser models. Today, many factory installed side vents are again functional, especially on high performance cars. But whether your OE side vents are real or fake, our custom versions will give your vehicle a substantial appearance upgrade.

We have side vents that will directly replace your factory vents, in chrome, polished stainless steel, billet aluminum, carbon fiber, or powder coated in color. Many have distinctive features like louvers, wire mesh, billet, logos, studs, and other elements of design that will give your vehicle a unique look and make it stand out from the rest. We also offer side vent covers as well as mesh and hole-punch pattern grilles that will enhance the appearance of factory fender and quarter panel vents and air intakes, as well as styling flairs like bright surrounds, trim and spears that will set off your vents and make your ride one-of-a-kind.

In addition to sets of side vents and port holes, for select applications we also offer complete chrome kits. In addition to quarter panel vent moldings these kits include front and rear bumper and rocker panel moldings, which combine to create a consistent, head-turning appearance. Side vents and port holes installation will vary according to whether you’re adding them or upgrading existing components. Many of our side vents and port holes are easily attached with 3M™ double-sided tape. This adhesive is super strong and so effective it’s used by the automobile manufacturers to attach trim at the factory. Installation is not only simpler; there are no fasteners to deal with.
