The Saturn Outlook is a full-size SUV, which replaced the Saturn Relay. The first presentation of the Saturn Outlook took place at the New York International Auto Show. The model was based on GM Lambda platform. The vehicle had 8 seats installed, the access to the third sitting row was available through the second row with the Smart Slide system installed. The Outlooks were powered by the 3.6L V6 engine; the available variant for the Outlook XE was 270hp and for the Outlook XR – 275hp.
The innovations of the Outlook 2008 were all about the inner changes. Safety systems, particularly ABS, tracking control, antiskid system, side and front airbags, were included in the standard package. Remote engine start came as the new option, and the upholstery material was changed into leather. The new Outlook received more powerful engine: XE edition was now equipped with 3.6L 281hp and the XR edition had a 3.6L 288hp. Other new features were wireless cell-phone link and a rear-obstacle detection.
The 2010 Saturn Outlook production was discontinued due to the low merchantability. As its previous editions, Outlook 2010 was equipped with the3.6L V6 281hp engine. As for the transmission, only an automatic 6-speed one was available. The Outlook received 5 stars for he safety systems in the NHTSA crash tests. Fuel economy for all models achieved 17mpg in city and 24mpg on the highway. The towing capacity of the vehicle was 5200 pounds, thus the Outlook was a good alternative to a truck for hauling a boat or jet-skis.
Sporty and stylish, the Saturn Outlook takes on the world of crossover SUVs with an uncanny amount of determination and enthusiasm. The vehicle is very reliable yet, due to its solid parts, trusted all over the world. The Outlook is no shrimp-it has more than enough space to full up with some cargo or the entire family. And yes, it does bring enough engine power to tow or blast through the terrain when necessary. But it is the Outlook's overall profile that is stunning, and that is what makes the grade. It is fashionable, exciting, and fun to drive, earning itself a spot on the 'most watched' list. No doubt about it, the Saturn Outlook is one of the tops in its class, especially when it comes to customizing with proper accessories.
