For snow sport applications, cargo boxes truly excel. In this section you'll find containers designed to hold up to 12 pairs of skis or 8 snowboards that mount to virtually any roof rack. All of them come equipped with a lock for the box lid, and another lock that prevents the box from being stolen off the roof of your vehicle. Knobs for opening and closing are typically oversized and easy to use wearing gloves.

Unless you have a van, sport utility, or pickup truck, you may have noticed most modern sedans and coupes feature trunk lids with a very shallow opening. Because rear windows are usually designed with a great deal of horizontal slope to increase style and enhance aerodynamics, very little room is left for the length of deck lids. Fold-down rear seats don't help because objects with any kind of bulk do not even clear the trunk lid opening to begin with. If the ability to carry bulky items is what you need, we offer cargo carriers in tall and wide sizes of varying lengths. For example, the Thule Atlantis features dimensions of 92 inches x 36 inches x 18 inches to hold an impressive 21 cubic feet of carrying ability. Or if you prefer a shorter length, the Thule Excursion is a shorter version measuring 55 inches in length with 13 cubic feet of capacity.

When you need a low-profile cargo carrier that won't get in the way of garage doors, Rhino Rack® offers 14.5-inch tall carriers in multiple lengths and widths such as 84 inches x 35 inches (17.5 cubic feet of interior volume), or 75 inches x 32 inches (14.0 cubic feet of interior volume). For really tight clearance, the ultra-slim Thule® Ascent 1100 measures only 12 inches in height. A length of 88 inches and width of 25 inches provides the Ascent with 11 cubic feet of interior volume. If the need to remove your carrier from the roof arises, they dismount easily by hand with no tools necessary.
