Unlike many companies that outsource production, Replace has complete control of the engineering, design, and assembly of everything they sell. Replace reverse engineers each engine to eliminate original factory defects, and this ensures you won’t be subject to a failure that might have caused your original engine to go bad. Replace engines are remanufactured in their own ISO/TS 16949 certified facilities, using the latest machining processes and equipment, with the highest quality parts. Each engine is completely disassembled and cleaned using high temperature bake ovens, washing and blasting equipment. The integrity of all parts to be reused is verified prior to machining to ensure durability. The block is align honed to provide the best surface finish for optimum bearing life, heat transfer, oil clearance, and alignment of the rotating assembly. The block deck is resurfaced parallel to the crankshaft centerline to ensure equal compression and optimal head gasket sealing. The cylinders are bored 90 degrees to the crankshaft centerline and plateau diamond honed to achieve proper cylinder size and surface finish for best compression and oil control.

The crankshaft is ground on index to better than OE clearance tolerances, to assure equalized compression of cylinders for equalized power, and a smooth running engine. Connecting rods are reconditioned using a diamond hone to achieve strict size control, optimal bearing life and best heat transfer, and they’re machined perpendicular to the housing bore for true journal alignment and minimal bearing stress. Cylinder heads are resurfaced, valve guides reconditioned to better than OE tolerances, and valve seats 3-angle machined for optimal sealing and flow, with high-temperature Viton valve seals installed to provide superior sealing and oil control. Valve stem heights and lash are measured and set to specification to ensure optimum engine performance.

Every engine is fully tested on a simulated or live-run test stand. All critical engine parameters are tested by highly trained technicians, who check for correct timing, correct valvetrain setup, compression, oil pressure, oil flow, vibration, knocking or unusual noises, variable valve timing actuation, and fluid leaks. The entire assembly is also pressurized to verify water jacket integrity. All this adds up to industry leading quality backed by the best warranty in the business.
