Product Details

Active Fuel Management Disable Device by Range Technology®. The Range Active Fuel Management Disabler device keeps your vehicle in 8/6 cylinder mode 100% disabling 4 (or 3) cylinder mode, while preventing the AFM system from dropping cylinders. It is available for most GM AFM cars, SUVs, and trucks, both V6 and V8. The AFM device is the only product that will disable AFM with no need to reprogram the factory ECU. It ensures easy installation into your onboard OBD-II port.

The Range Active Fuel Management Disabler device keeps your vehicle in 8/6 cylinder mode 100% disabling 4 (or 3) cylinder mode, preventing the AFM system from shuddering and dropping cylinders. It fits all GM AFM equipped cars, SUVs, and trucks, both V6 and V8. The AFM device is the only product that will disable AFM without reprogramming the factory ECU. The AFM Disabler device delivers the power and control you need in bad weather conditions, driving off-road or carrying heavy loads. The AFM Disabler device ensures easy installation and can be simply inserted into your onboard OBD-II port without any special tools.

Warranty

Range Technology warrants the covered product to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period one (1) year from date of purchase. This warranty extends to the original buyer only. Within the warranty period, Range Technology will repair or replace any part proving defective in material or workmanship. All warranty repairs and services must be performed by Range Technology. All expenses related to repairing or replacing the covered product will be assumed by Range Technology except for the following expenses:

Repairs necessitated by abuse or use other than the intended use
Damage resulting from an incorrect application, accidents, alterations, or improper installation or care
Damage or alterations made by anyone other than Range Technology
Damage from natural disasters
Theft or loss of product
Damage resulting from shipping or handling as a result of poor packing
Incidental damage, travel time, diagnosis

Do not use this product until you have carefully read the following agreement. The installation of this product indicates that the Buyer has read and understands this agreement and accepts its terms and conditions.

Disclaimer Of Liability. Range Technology and its successors, distributors, jobbers, and dealers (hereafter Seller) shall in no way be responsible for the product’s proper use and service. The Buyer hereby waives all liability claims. The Buyer acknowledges that he/she is not relying on the Seller’s skill or judgment to select or furnish goods suitable for any particular purpose and that there are no liabilities which extend beyond the description on the face hereof and the Buyer hereby waives all remedies or liabilities, expressed or implied, arising by law or otherwise, (including without any obligations of the Seller with respect to fitness, merchantability, and consequential damages) or whether or not occasioned by the Seller’s negligence. The Seller disclaims any warranty and expressly disclaims any liability for personal injury or damages. The Buyer acknowledges and agrees that the disclaimer of any liability for personal injury is a material term for this agreement and the Buyer agrees to indemnify the Seller and to hold the Seller harmless from any claim related to the item of the equipment purchased. Under no circumstances will the Seller be liable for any damages or expenses by reason of use or sale of any such equipment. The Seller assumes no liability regarding the improper installation or misapplication of its products. It is the installer’s responsibility to check for proper installation.

Limitation Of Warranty. Range Technology (hereafter “Seller”) gives Limited Warranty as to description, quality, merchantability, fitness for any product’s purpose, productiveness, or any other matter of Seller’s product sold herewith. The Seller shall be in no way responsible for the product’s open use and service, and the Buyer hereby waives all rights other than those expressly written herein. This Warranty shall not be extended or varied except by a written instrument signed by Seller and Buyer. The Warranty is Limited to one (1) year from the date of sale and limited solely to the parts contained within the product. All Warranty claims are subject to approval by Range Technology. If the Buyer sends back a failed unit that is out of warranty and chooses to buy a refurbished unit, the refurbished unit will only carry a 60-day warranty. If the Buyer purchases a new unit at a predetermined discounted rate, it will have the standard 1-year warranty. Under no circumstances shall the Seller be liable for any labor charged or travel time incurred in diagnosis for defects, removal, or re-installation of this product, or any other contingent expenses. Under no circumstances will the Seller be liable for any damage or expenses insured by reason of the use or sale of any such equipment. This warranty is void for any new products purchased through auction websites or unauthorized dealers. Warranty is valid only for new products purchased through authorized dealers.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. You have the right to bring any action at law or equity to resolve disputes concerning or to enforce the provisions of this warranty.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act:

Big Difference

I have only had this installed for 1 day. It was a big difference right from the start. V8 power at all times and you can really tell a difference. Great item and works as advertised. Feels like I am driving a whole new vehicle. No longer sluggish feeling. It has really opened up the potential of the 5.3 liter.

Satisfied

Oh My God! Guys, this is great device. I thought about to get ride of my Camaro. But then I bought this disable and wow! My car runs like a V-8 should smooth upshifts and downshifts. My ride is a pleasure.

As Expected

Good Service

I searched product for get full time performance out of my V-8. I purchased this product and got rid of the "belching" sound that my after market exhaust system would make whenever the engine would switch. Great! It has blown me away.

Improved City MPG, Not Highway

I'd rate this product a strong 2 to weak 3 star overall. It seemed to work the way intended as long as you were under 55 mph. At highway speeds, it didn't seem to make any difference at all, which is where I'd hoped for improving my mpg. When it was engaged, the 4 cylinder mode sounded different than factory 4 cylinder mode & the transmission seemed a bit choppier on shifts. After about 10 days use primarily in city driving, my wife noticed that the vehicle started to die randomly at stop lights or when stuck in non-moving traffic. That's when I decided it was no longer worth any city driving savings on gas, as safety is more important. I rated it the way I did because when it did work in the city, it definitely increased mpg. Maybe I got a lemon off the line, but not worth risking the safety of my family to find out.
