Radiator Hoses

Because every engine exhibits a degree of torque-induced movement in the motor mounts, flexible connections are needed between the engine and the rigidly mounted parts of the cooling system: the radiator, heater core, and expansion tank. These flexible connections are the radiator and heater hoses. To avoid leaks and potential engine damage, these hoses should be inspected regularly and replaced at the manufacturer’s recommended interval.

In addition to hoses, we also have the pipes, adapters and gaskets that are required for many applications, as well as clamps, which should always be replaced when a new hose is installed. Some vehicles use quick-connect fittings for hose attachment instead of clamps, but these can sometimes develop leaks, and components can break during removal. While we have the complete hose assemblies for these applications that include the fittings, we also carry individual fittings so you can replace the connector without having to replace the entire hose assembly.

When you build your engine to make more power, with high compression or forced induction, it will generate a lot more heat as well. The cooling system must be upgraded to handle the temperatures or your powerful, expensive engine will overheat. Mods like a high flow water pump improve coolant circulation, and high capacity radiators and cooling fans dissipate heat, but your coolant hoses should also be upgraded so they can reliably channel coolant throughout the system in a high temperature environment. Most OE rubber hoses can’t tolerate extreme temperatures, and they’re also subject to deterioration from oil, fuel, and other contaminants.
